NBA Betting Guide for April 12: Playoff Picture Chaos

All 30 teams are in action as each team’s final two games will be played tonight and on Sunday, so let’s dive into all the scenarios.

Starting in the Eastern Conference, the Boston Celtics have the top spot locked up, but after that, anything can happen. If the Milwaukee Bucks win out, the No. 2 spot is theirs while the New York Knicks are threatening for that spot. The Knicks need to win out, so keep your eyes on Sunday’s matchup between the Orlando Magic and Bucks that will have plenty at stake for the whole conference.

Looking at seeds four through seven, tonight, the Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers will square off while the Cleveland Cavaliers will face the Indiana Pacers. By night’s end, we can expect a ton of re-shuffling. The eighth seed Miami Heat are locked into their seed essentially unless the 76ers somehow collapse, but given the way they’ve been playing, that seems like a stretch.

In the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets have a one-game hold on the No. 1 seed, with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder battling it out for the No. 2 seed. Currently, the Wolves hold the tiebreaker, but both team’s have very tough challenges on Sunday, especially the Wolves who will be facing the Phoenix Suns who may be in a must-win situation to escape the Play-In Tournament.

The four-five matchup between the LA Clippers and Dallas Mavericks is already locked up, but after that, the New Orleans Pelicans have a hold on the sixth seed with the Phoenix Suns trailing shortly behind. Then, the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, and Golden State Warriors are all tied in seeds eight through 10, so it will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.
