Olympics Men’s Basketball: USA vs. Puerto Rico +1200 SGP

The Olympics are underway, and the USA Men’s Basketball team is back in action Saturday afternoon as they’ll face Puerto Rico, so we worked up an ultimate same-game parlay for the action.

Valued at +1200, let’s ride!

USA vs. Puerto Rico SGP

Legs 1 & 2: LeBron James 10+ Points, 4+ Rebounds

In Team USA’s Olympic group stage games thus far, LeBron James has been the clear leader on the floor. It couldn’t be more obvious. He’s averaged 16.5 points and seven rebounds across both games, eclipsing the ten-point and four-rebound marks. He won’t see fewer minutes or the ball in his hands less tonight, so we’re fully confident that he can get us ten points and four boards.

Leg 3: Anthony Edwards 10+ Points

One thing Anthony Edwards doesn’t lack is confidence. No matter the stage, he eagerly wants the ball in his hands to make something happen. He’s had the green light in the group stage games thus far, eclipsing the ten-point mark in both outings, so we’ll look on him to do just that once again.

Leg 4: Stephen Curry 2+ Threes

Steph Curry went 3/7 from deep on Sunday against Serbia and 0/6 from beyond the arc on Wednesday against South Sudan. I find it hard to believe that he’ll be cold once again, and with Steve Kerr at the helm, he’ll give his point guard every chance to get hot from deep. Two threes should be nothing for Curry.

Leg 5: Anthony Davis UNDER 9.5 Points

A lot was made about Steve Kerr not giving any minutes to Joel Embiid in Wednesday’s win vs. South Sudan. Still, Kerr declared that Embiid would re-enter the starting lineup against Puerto Rico, so who would lose the minutes? It likely won’t and shouldn’t be Bam Adebayo, as he was arguably the best player for Team USA on Wednesday, leaving it to be Anthony Davis. Even if AD doesn’t see his minutes decrease, he’s finished under the 9.5-point mark in both games thus far, as he’s shown no urgency to score the basketball. He seems content playing defense, grabbing rebounds, and finishing a few easy layups, so we won’t expect him to be a double-digit scorer tomorrow.

Leg 6: Jose Alvarado UNDER 15.5 Points

Defensively, Team USA has been absurdly efficient thus far, as Derrick White and Jrue Holiday have wreaked havoc against opposing point guards. Jose Alvarado of the New Orleans Pelicans is Puerto Rico’s best player, so I do not doubt that Steve Kerr will do everything possible to keep Alvarado locked down. Alvarado only had two points after a 26-point performance against South Sudan when he faced a higher-quality defense against Serbia, so we’ll look for a similar result here–15.5 is just far too high.

Leg 7: George Conditt UNDER 5.5 Rebounds

On Wednesday, Puerto Rico was outrebounded by Serbia 54-24 in rather embarrassing fashion. They don’t have the personnel to compete with NBA-level interior presences. That 54-24 could widen even further on Saturday, so we’ll look for George Conditt to have a ton of trouble grabbing boards again after he finished with just two rebounds on Wednesday.
