Suns vs Nuggets Friday Prediction | NBA Picks Today, Best Bets

John Canady

Host · Writer

The Phoenix Suns hit the road for a showdown against the Denver Nuggets on Friday night as the race in the Western Conference standings continues to heat up. Phoenix showed life with their comeback win against the LA Clippers on Tuesday, and now they’ll have a chance to build on the win with an opportunity to go on a run before their chance at the postseason entirely slips away. Meanwhile, the Nuggets have won three of their last five games as they look to gear up toward a playoff run.

Suns vs Nuggets

  • Location: Ball Arena – Denver, Colorado
  • Where to Watch: ESPN
  • Time: 10:00 p.m. ET
  • Spread: Nuggets -7.5 | Total: 239
  • Moneyline: Nuggets -290 | Suns +235

Please be aware that betting odds may change after the publication of this article.

Suns vs Nuggets Best Bet: Nuggets -7.5

The Denver Nuggets enter this matchup as the betting favorites, and it’s easy to see why. Denver leads the season series against the Suns 2-1, with both of their wins coming due to a blowout, including a 27-point win in their first matchup in Ball Arena. The Nuggets have been one of the best teams at home this season with a record of 21-9, while the Suns have been abysmal on the road with a record of 11-20. That said, give me the Nuggets to take care of business.

Suns vs Nuggets Best Total Bet: Under 235

As mentioned above, two out of the three games in this series have ended in Nuggets blowout wins, with Denver doing the majority of the scoring. Even then, the set total never came close to 239 points, with the largest combined total equaling 227 points. Assuming the trend stays the same, I like the odds that this game stays under the 239-point set total.

Suns Best Player Bet: Kevin Durant 30+ Points+172

The story as old as time for the Suns this season is that if they have any chance to win a game, it comes behind a big performance from Kevin Durant. At 36, the Texas product is still at the top of his game, averaging 26.9 points per game during the season, and there’s no denying that the versatile forward can explode for 30+ points on any given night. Phoenix will need their veteran to be aggressive if they hope to keep pace with the Nuggets, which leads me to believe head coach Mike Budenholzer knows that as well as anyone. Coming off a 34-point outing on Tuesday, I expect Durant to carry the confidence into Friday’s battle.

Nuggets Best Player Bet: Michael Porter Jr. 20+ Points Scored +130

Michael Porter Jr. remains one of the most overlooked players on the Nuggets squad despite how key he is to the team’s success. The 26-year-old is averaging 18.4 points per game on the season and is often the beneficiary of Nikola Jokic’s absurd passing abilities. With 20+ points scored in each game against the Nuggets this season, and even the preseason, it’s clear that Porter Jr. plays well against the Suns, which gives me hope the forward continues his strong play tonight.
