Louisiana vs TCU New Mexico Bowl Prediction | College Football Best Bets

John Canady

Host · Writer

On Saturday, the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns are set for battle with the TCU Horned Frogs in the Isleta New Mexico Bowl. Louisiana enters this game with an impressive 10-3 record as they look to finish the season off strong with one more win. Meanwhile, TCU heads into this matchup with an 8-4 record. And while the Horned Frogs record may not be as impressive, Sonny Dykes’ squad has won four of their last five games to get to this point of the season. In a showdown between two red-hot teams, this game has the makings to be a dogfight.

Lousiana vs. TCU Best Bet: Lousiana +9.5

Louisiana enters this matchup as the underdog despite having an impressive 10-win season. Of course, wins don’t matter when the competition level is different, but the Ragin’ Cajuns didn’t get to this point of the season because of luck. Not to mention, TCU is without some top playmakers on both sides of the ball. Although TCU may not fall to Louisiana, the Ragin’ Cajuns have a solid chance to keep the final margin of victory under 10 points.

Lousiana vs. TCU Best Total Bet: Over 59.5

Both teams have shown throughout the season that they can score points quickly against any defense. TCU heads into this game averaging 33.6 points per game, while Louisiana trails just behind, averaging 33.2 points per contest. Despite not having some top playmakers on the field, this game still has all the makings to be a high-scoring spout between two talented offenses. That said, a final score of 34-27 seems realistic.

Lousiana Best Player Bet: Zylan Perry 60+ Rushing Yards +122

Zylan Perry served as the backup running back for Louisiana this season, but when he did get his opportunity on the field, the sophomore rose to the occasion. Perry enters this matchup with 646 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the season, but his 6.4 yards per carry may be the most impressive part. With an increased workload, the running back could be in line for a massive day on the ground.

TCU Best Player Bet: Josh Hoover 300+ Passing Yards +122

Josh Hoover has been one of the biggest keys to the Horned Frogs’ success on offense this season. The pocket passer has elevated TCU’s passing game to another level, and his numbers in the season prove it. The quarterback has thrown for 3,697 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions on the season, and he’s turned into a reliable game manager in his second season as the starter. Hoover has exceeded 300+ yards throwing six times this season, and in a game where TCU will likely be aggressive on offense, the gunslinger could be in store for a big game.
