The one thing we can agree on, the top 8 has been settled. Ohio State, Indiana, Georgia, Texas Tech, Oregon, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Oklahoma, safely in the college football playoff. Bama at 9, Notre Dame 10, BYU 11, Miami 12. That's where the focal point is going to be at this point right now, Joe. And let me understand this, right? Bama wins, BYU wins, Joe, ND and Miami would be out. Do we then say to ourselves, OK, they're out of the college football playoffs. Don't they have to play in a bowl game then against each other? Isn't that the next the correct move to make? Yeah, well, that would, and you know that's what would happen, but neither would be happy with that in any way, shape, or form would they be happy with that. But, and I think it was strategic what the College Football Committee did by dropping Notre Dame back a spot, bringing Alabama up, you know, they basically protected their own, you know what. Donnie, because if, if listen, even if Georgia wins, right, as long as they don't blow out Alabama at number 9, Bama is safe. The real issue is gonna come into play with does Virginia or Duke win and does BYU beat Texas Tech because if they do, then 2 teams from the Big 12 are guaranteed in the college football playoffs. Not enough spots for those two. We could have it all. We're close to having it all, but we're gonna continue to have these stupid conversations all because of that television show. If we didn't have the television show, they gave us one show like they do on Selection Sunday. We're like, oh, that's interesting, and you talk about it and then you move on. But the fact that we've seen this coming miles away for multiple weeks makes it that much more fascinating because we never get a straight answer from the people actually picking the teams, which makes it even more maddening. You know who's upset about this? How about Notre Dame. They're trying to pitch and tell them why they should be in the playoffs. Here's Marcus Freeman. You know, it's obviously disappointed, but, but more so because. And look at the confused, they're confused, um. In terms of what we. could have done differently, right? And why we fell when we won 49 to 20. We were up 40, 42 to 6 going in the fourth quarter and That's the only thing and it's not a, I don't, uh, I'll spend time talking to other teams, but it's just like, OK, what could we have done differently? I don't know. I it was just that you, you always look for cause and effect, you look for a reason why, you know, you go up through default and um for me it was just you didn't see. Uh, a great explanation for, for why we sell, um, when we have a performance in big last Saturday and so. This Disappointed I we felt, um, just because I don't necessarily agree with it because I think our guys um did a good enough job versus stand for team not falling into the rankings by them. I don't know if the team did something that much better than us to jump because I don't know you know it's for the committee to come that address. Joe, he's right about one thing. Like if Alabama knocked off Georgia as a top 5 team this past weekend and jumped Notre Dame, nobody's gonna be upset with that. But Alabama went to the wire against a bad Auburn football team and barely won that game and jumped Notre Dame. I do think that's funny, but I know, you know, there's other outstanding circumstances of why they actually wanted Bama ahead of Notre Dame. Well, because they needed to bring Notre Dame closer to Miami in order to, if it gets to that point, then they could have the conversation of Notre Dame. If Notre Dame remains at #9, Donnie, and, and Miami's 12, and neither is playing, you, you're never gonna have that conversation, right? You're never gonna have Miami's never gonna jump Notre Dame and it's not gonna matter that you beat them. But at number 10. Yeah, yeah, and with BYU sandwiched in the middle. Guess what? BYU loses. Now you got to have that conversation about Miami or Notre Dame. So, uh, a little bit of maneuvering and game planning here by the committee.
