But my goodness, we got a good game. You can watch on Saturday at 4 p.m. It's Georgia, it's Alabama, it's Atlanta, Georgia. It's the SEC championship. And look at this line. Georgia minus 2.5. Alabama getting the 2.5, 47.5 as a total. We're led to believe that you can't leave anybody out of this game, Joe. So the fact of the matter is for the spread line. What is it going to be? A big Georgia win keeps Alabama out, Alabama keeps it close, Alabama wins here. There's so much to get through, Joe. What's your spread line on this game with Georgia and Alabama? Well, I, if you think because the game is on a neutral site in Atlanta and somehow that's gonna favor Georgia, I, I would hold your horses there because we already know that Alabama and their fan base, they travel very well and they have been here and done this before in this game. But you gotta look at the first game, Donnie, which seems like a million years ago, it was September 27th. September 27th is when. Alabama won 24, 21 in that meeting and, uh, I believe 2.5 was the line then. We saw this line open up Georgia.5. Now it's up to 2.5. The total still hovering around that 47.5, 48 mark, but it, it felt like Alabama was better early in that game. Georgia was better pretty much the rest of the way in there, but just. Fell a little bit short. So yeah, it feels like the market thinks this is a coin flip game. It certainly appears to be a coin flip game. It is very difficult, Donny, as we know, especially when you're talking about SEC teams, to beat a team twice in the same season, especially because the teams that met on the 27th of September are not the teams that are meeting here on Saturday. And here's the thing I always caution about these type of games, Joe. Yes, we're human beings here, but if you think for one minute that Georgia is like, you know what, we're already in, let's just see what happens this weekend. They want to beat Bama, like nobody's business here for recruiting for rights for SEC championship games. You cannot look at this like Alabama needs it more because if they lose, they might be out. Nonsense. These two teams are going to war on Saturday, be a lot of fun to watch you play out. Two teams that are playing this Saturday in the ACC, which I think the ACC even admits that we made a mistake. Duke and Virginia for the ACC championship here. The favorite is Virginia at -3.5. The total is 57.5. Manny Diaz is already saying, hey, you know what guys, we win this, we should be in. Joe, you spread line for a low-key ACC championship game. All right. Well, unfortunately, Donny, one of these two teams will probably be in the college football playoff as, uh, it's just, it, it's kind of head scratching here. But yes, the Blue Devils, 7 and 5 on the season. You know, there were, I believe, Donny, heading into week 14, 5 teams ranked in the, uh, top 25 there from the ACC and only one of them is now playing in the conference title game. Does that tell you exactly how screwed. Up the ACC is listen, Virginia dominated at Duke and beat Duke the first go around 34 to 17. That was just a few weeks ago. It was a 31 to 3 game entering the fourth quarter as well. They outgained Duke by nearly 300 yards. Uh, you got to be kidding me. And now this game opened up Virginia 215, and that, well, that's long gone, Donnie, like you said, because now the hook is very much. Alive and well, 3.2's across the board. The total is starting to creep up a little bit as well. I expect more over money to come in throughout the week because if it's one thing Duke does well with Darren Menza is they can score, uh, but so can Virginia. Now that Morris is healthy, I, I only see Virginia money coming in at this particular point. It wouldn't shock me if 3.5, maybe even 4 is what you're going to get by kickoff. And how convoluted those tiebreakers are when it used to just like, oh, there's a couple of teams with the same, uh, you know, record that they play head to head. No, more of a round robin. OK, highest rated team in the polls gets the tiebreaking advantage somehow not in the ACC, which is incredible to actually think about that. Big 10 championship game. Indiana, Ohio State, ATN Saturday night. This opening line, Joe, a little bit higher, 5.5. We're dipping out to 4.52s and 4s in the marketplaces here. So maybe some Indiana money coming in, a total listed at 47.5. We're in a dome. This should be fun. Keep in mind again, both of these teams will be going to the college football playoff regardless of win or losses, bragging rights on the line. Joe, what's your spread line here? Well, you know, Ohio State, um, maybe a little momentum heading into this one in Indianapolis, right? Because, you know, they didn't get to the Big 10 championship game last year, not that it mattered, because they ended up running the table and winning the national championship, but they absolutely manhandled Michigan to join Indiana in this game, and it feels like, well, you know, Some of the market loves the Hoosiers and believes that they learned a lot from a year ago, Donnie, but, uh, we saw this open up at 5.5, and that's the prevailing thought in the market right now because it is 4.5 right now. So we are starting to see a lot of Indiana love in the market. Listen, the public has not gotten involved yet in this game, Donnie. I would imagine when we talk about this game. Tomorrow and Friday we start looking at the line. We're going to start seeing a lot of that Ohio State money here which may push it back up to 5, 5.5, but right now the market loves themselves. Some Indiana Hoosiers here to get it done. This is going to be an interesting game. What do both of these teams really, do they lay it all out, Donnie? I can't wait to see. All right, we, we might need the rest of the hour and half of this program, Joe, to go over the important information. That's the college football playoff show. I can't stand this show. I didn't watch or pay attention one second in the past couple of weeks. But now we get down to where it actually makes sense and before championship week, you want to see teams jockeying for position. And the committee last night from painting themselves into The corner for weeks prior, I think they're giving themselves a little bit of breathing room. If you look at the college football playoff rankings from last night, again, top 10, Ohio State, Indiana, Georgia, Texas Tech, Oregon, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma. They are in. The question marks now start at 9, 1011, and 12. That's Alabama. Notre Dame, BYU, and Miami. The only move of interest yesterday was, where was Miami going to go after pulverizing a ranked team on the road? Would they move up? They didn't. However, Alabama, struggling with a poor Auburn team who needed a late drive to win that football game. was rewarded from the 10th seed into the 9th seed currently now in the rankings dropping Notre Dame to 10. But also the opposite side of the coin there is Notre Dame going back to 10, which means if BYU loses, they will drop, Miami will move up, and Notre Dame, which would have Notre Dame and Miami side by side. Side an absolute nightmare scenario that now the committee is saying now we have an out because if they're side by side, they can go, well, what did you want us to do? We never thought they would be side by side. Now the only advantage is they played on the football field. We must put Miami over Notre Dame or Joe, are there other high jinks out there that you're seeing. Well, it, it's, it's funny what they did here. And maybe more than anything else, uh, Donnie, last night was a great lesson in exit strategy. And that is exactly what the committee gave themselves last night is a absolute exit strategy, depending, and because We know, uh, you know, this, uh, this, this character, Yanni, it doesn't feel like he has any idea what's going on though, it's hysterical, and yet somehow he's the what, the AD in Arkansas, um, they pushed him on the issue with Miami and Notre Dame, and his answer was there has been no stronger debate. It's not between Notre Dame and Miami, but Notre Dame in Alabama. He said it was one of the fiercest debates for the last 3 weeks, uh, and he said it, it's really split the committee room. So that tells me that whoever was on the side of Alabama, well, they won, Donnie, uh, they won, and the other side is giving Miami a chance to push Notre Dame out if only one thing happens. And that thing that happened is BYU has to lose. uh, and then that's the only way you can get Mia. and Notre Dame side by side and then have to pick it. He did say in that show last night that nothing is set in stone for teams that are not playing this week. So there is a lot. Everything is going to be reseeded and reshuffled depending on the results of the conference championships. If BYU wins, then you got two Big 12 teams in there. But if they lose, then the committee gave themselves an exit strategy to then use the head to head and put Miami in. Now also understand this because the top 8 is secured at this point. Oklahoma is gonna be in. We get that. A&M is gonna be in. Forget about that. Alabama. Now granted, you know, the last two weeks, we didn't get that mild upset, right? Like, oh, Donnie, well, Texas ended up beating A&M. We knew that wasn't gonna impact only seeding, right? A&M was still gonna be in and Texas with 3 losses, probably wouldn't be included into the situation. But I don't understand this. Like on a theory where, like, yes, you're playing an extra game, but that's what you have to play for. You play to win it and we're always taught that, oh, that loss late in the season is going to hurt. Alabama, if they play Georgia, let's call the final score Joe, 27-20 Georgia, which would drop Alabama to a third loss on the season and one of those losses to a horrendous Florida State football team by double digits. How can Alabama stay in there? You, uh, and again, you can't take this, you play the games. Otherwise, you know what they should do, Joe? Alabama goes, you know what? We made the SEC championship game. For the betterment of our team this season, we are pulling out of that game. We will not play. We'll stay at the 9 spot. We'll let somebody else get in there and play as opposed to us. We'll put A&M in there. So now we automatically make it. But no, no, no, you're playing this game, Joe. That game matters on the field. A 3 loss Alabama team with the loss to Florida State and a loss in their final game of the season. No way, shape, or form. I don't care what the committee is telling us. You can't do that. Otherwise, make it a 6014 field or put everybody in here because that is ridiculous. What what they did by pushing Bama to 9 and Notre Dame back to 10 is they kind of shielded Alabama in case, Donnie, because there is precedent to this, don't forget, new committee, new people, but last year that committee, don't forget, did not hold a conference championship loss for SMU who lost to Clemson, uh, on a walk-off field goal last year. They didn't penalize SMU and keep. out of the playoff because they lost and played an extra game. So I think a lot of this, what they did, if Alabama loses by less than a touchdown, they've secured Alabama and even as a 3 loss team. If Bama gets blown out by double digits or more, Donnie, that's when it becomes very interesting where then anything is up for grabs. But right now by moving them to 9, all they're saying is don't get blown out. Just don't get blown out and you're in the playoffs. It's, it's unbelievable. It, it's just nothing makes sense for what they say. And by the way, they're making up these rules as they go. We might show up to that next, you know, I think it's Sunday, probably 12 o'clock when they release the final college football playoff rankings. They can make up whatever they want. If they wanted to, they could go, Oh, Ohio State, Indiana, uh, it was a close game there. They'll stay 1 and 2. Like, wait a second, they lost. If Georgia wins, why wouldn't they move up? Oh well, we didn't want to penalize two undefeated teams at this point and we'll keep it in the same round. I'm interested to see what they see on Sunday because everybody knows what actually should happen. Now granted again, as I say, Joe, we didn't get any mild upsets. So theoretically, we're probably supposed to get a Georgia victory and we're supposed to get a Texas Tech victory, which is actually exactly, Joe, what the committee does want. Because other than Alabama winning, which, who, OK, we can keep Alabama in at all and who knows if Notre Dame or Miami gets in. The doomsday scenario is it plays out where the favorites. Then, then they have to make a decision and explain why Notre Dame is out, but Alabama is in even though Alabama just lost their last game. It's crazy work how it is. But Joe, if we look at that championship picture in the odds, you see, Ohio State plus 185, Indiana plus 360, Georgia plus 750, ND 10 to 1, and that price point. Is it still Ohio State by a wide margin for you entering into this Big 10 championship game and then the playoff. Well, yes, but the problem here, Donnie, is that Ohio State has done nothing to lead any of us to believe that they aren't the best team in the country at all. Now, their biggest test is about to come. Michigan wasn't a big test. I mean, that's tough, a lot of mental things to get over to go into the big house and get to win, but from a talent perspective, Ohio State has always been better this year than Michigan. We're gonna see here, uh, with Indiana, real quick. On Sunday, but if they win that game, Donnie, and they win it convincingly against Indiana, they're gonna be an even money favorite to win it all. You realize that, right? It's going to be, it's gonna be, it's like Scotty Scheffler in a tournament like, oh, I can't bet him. Like, you gotta be kidding me. It's like, it's, and that's what you're looking at right now here. But the real doomsday scenario here. is if Duke wins, because if Duke wins and beats Virginia, then you are possibly worst case scenario looking at not only James Madison, uh, but also either North Texas or Tulanin, which means there's a whole lot of Blue Bloods that are gonna be on the outside looking in because of the committee's stupid rules they implemented last year. It is and credit Indiana because they did it the right way. They won all of their football games so far, but also we talk about all of their football games and technically it's not their fault that the Big 10 stunk, but you know, they played one team all year, Oregon. They didn't play another solid football team, and they needed the miracle toe touch of all toe touches to beat a horrendous Penn State football team had already fired their head coach. So we'll see what they're made out of this week going up against Ohio State, but you look at All these schedules, they're not made the same. You tell me right now if Indiana had to play Ohio State in the regular season, Oregon in the regular season, and who knows else? Maybe they scheduled at a conference a team like Texas. We wouldn't be talking about it. So in the future that we talk about now, which Alabama is doing, play the easiest schedule you have. Why? Because the only thing that matters is wins. Not who you play, it doesn't matter anymore. Load up Old Dominion all over that place. We'll be right back.
