8. NFC South
If anyone calls the NFC South anything but the worst division in the NFL, you should get them checked out ASAP. The Atlanta Falcons pose a potential threat to be much improved, but there's not a lot of meat on the bone here.

1. AFC North
It's hard to put the AFC North anywhere but as the most challenging division in the NFL. With Super Bowl contenders in the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals leading the way, the AFC North is a force of power. That doesn't even factor in two teams with ferocious defenses, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, who should be in the mix late in the year. Look for more fireworks from a division that loves playing hard-nosed football.
2. AFC East
There's a lot to get excited about in the AFC East entering 2024. Whether we're left wanting more will depend on whether the teams inside the division live up to expectations. We already know what to expect from the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. The New York Jets have one of the top defenses in football. If Aaron Rodgers stays healthy, there's plenty to like about the competition in this division.
3. NFC North
The NFC North has the chance to pop in 2024. The Detroit Lions have already emerged as genuine contenders in the NFC, while the Green Bay Packers aren't far behind. A new era of football in Chicago is set to take place, where expectations are also high. The Minnesota Vikings don't have much going for them right now, but they shouldn't be awful.
4. NFC West
The San Francisco 49ers remain the king of the NFC West and the overall NFC. Behind the 49ers are the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and Arizona Cardinals. If everything goes right for these three clubs, would anyone be shocked if they were all in the playoff hunt?

5. NFC East
The issue with the NFC East is depth. The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles should contend in the NFC, but the Washington Commanders and New York Giants have the potential to be very bad. However, one of these teams could surprise, which would hypothetically raise their standing here.
6. AFC South
With the continued emergence of the Houston Texans as real Super Bowl contenders, the AFC South is quietly on the rise. The Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars have the potential to show better in 2024, even if the Tennessee Titans still struggle to bring up the rear.
7. AFC West
Besides the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, the AFC West is littered with question marks. Does anyone know what to expect from the Los Angeles Chargers this season? Will the Las Vegas Raiders or Denver Broncos punch above their weight class?
8. NFC South
If anyone calls the NFC South anything but the worst division in the NFL, you should get them checked out ASAP. The Atlanta Falcons pose a potential threat to be much improved, but there's not a lot of meat on the bone here.
