5 Dark Horse Super Bowl Contenders To Watch in 2024

Green Bay Packers
We saw the Green Bay Packers break out last season thanks to an outstanding first year from quarterback Jordan Love. As long as Love is performing at that level, the sky is the limit for this Green Bay team. The Packers outplayed the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round, which bodes well for where they're headed with a new-look defense in 2024. Jeff Hafley was hired as their new defensive coordinator in the offseason, an area the club badly needed to make a change in. The Packers' price is still good enough in the futures department, where it's an appealing Super Bowl LIX bet at +2200.
Los Angeles Chargers
With a new face of the Los Angeles Chargers in Jim Harbaugh, this new-look team is poised to do damage in 2024. Pairing Harbaugh with Justin Herbert is a fit that makes a ton of sense and should leave Chargers fans bullish about their future. Herbert has all the tools needed to be a game-changing presence in the AFC, and with a competent coach now leading the charge, we're banking on the Chargers finally living up to expectations in 2024. The Chargers hold +3000 Super Bowl odds, which is a great price to back in the offseason.
Atlanta Falcons
Despite not making the playoffs in 2023, the Atlanta Falcons generated a lot of encouraging signs for the future of their franchise. Arthur Smith was fired as head coach and replaced by Raheem Morris. Although we're not sure how much of an upgrade this coaching move is, there are signs the Falcons could break out as a real Super Bowl threat in 2024. The Falcons' defense was strong in 2023, and with plenty of high-end skill players on offense, if this management team can even find a half-decent quarterback, we like the prospects of them in 2024. The Falcons are listed at +4500 to win Super Bowl LIX.
Los Angeles Rams
Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams aren't getting any younger. Sean McVay remains one of the top head coaches in the NFL, and we wouldn't put it past him to manufacture another Super Bowl run with this roster. The Rams weren't expected to be competitive last year, yet they qualified for the postseason and looked strong. There's reason to be optimistic that this group can once again make noise in an NFC that doesn't have a ton of world-beaters. The Rams own +3000 odds to win Super Bowl LIX.
New York Jets
I'm sure we won't be the only people taking this stance, but the price of the New York Jets in February is too good to pass up. Yes, Aaron Rodgers is another year older and coming off a significant injury. However, the Jets still have a deep roster and one that should be able to compete with even average quarterback play. We still don't know what Rodgers will amount to with the Jets, considering we only saw him play four snaps last season. We'll bank on him putting up numbers good enough to help the Jets win games in 2024. The Jets' price to win Super Bowl LIX is too cheap at +3000.
