5 NFL Teams That Should be Worried After Week 7

New York Jets
What the hell is going on with the New York Jets? A coaching change failed to ignite the Jets, so the team went out and acquired Davante Adams to satiate the never-satisfied Aaron Rodgers. Then they went on to get embarrassed on Sunday Night Football.
Nothing ever works succinctly for New York. However, this week, the distinction was the Jets' defense fell flat against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They gave up over 400 yards of offense and 37 points to the typically conservative Steelers, who were starting Russell Wilson for the first time in nearly a year. Considering the state of their offense, the Jets can't afford any oversights on defense if they hope to get back into the AFC playoff picture.
No team has underachieved more than the New York Jets over the past few years. And they appear unable to shake free from the rut again in 2024. A regime change could be the only remedy for the flightless Jets.

Cleveland Browns
We're not going to kick the Cleveland Browns while they are down. However, we will illuminate the concerns preventing this team from reaching its full potential.
In the midst of his best game in years, Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending, if not career-ending, Achilles injury. This comes days after the team traded away their top pass-catcher, robbing the Browns of any optimism for the remainder of the season.
Loaded with back-ups, reclamation projects, and unproven talent, there's little hope that Cleveland's can do anything to salvage this season.
Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons's investments in their defense aren't paying off. The NFC South leaders have gotten burned by nearly every team they've played, undercutting their offensive accomplishments.
After Week 7's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta is giving up 24.1 points per game, the 11th-most in the NFL. Predictably, that correlates with their underwhelming total defense that sits in the bottom half of the league by allowing 336.1 yards per game.
The Falcons haven't been able to apply pressure to opposing quarterbacks all season, and that was the case again on Sunday. Unless they figure things out on defense, it will be another wasted year of elite offensive talent.
New York Giants
Everyone saw it coming, especially the New York Giants. Still, they could do nothing to slow down Saquon Barkley in his revenge game versus his former squad. But the issues run much deeper than that.
Daniel Jones was utterly lost from the outset against the Philadelphia Eagles. Granted, the Giants offensive line needs to soak some of that heat, letting their quarterback get sacked seven times before he was mercifully yanked from the contest.
The Giants continue to lower the bar week after week. Maybe New York's brass realizes Jones isn't the right guy for the job.

San Francisco 49ers
This was supposed to be the San Francisco 49ers coming out party. It was a rematch of last year's Super Bowl loss with the home faithful at their backs and the betting market steaming them before kick-off. Instead, San Francisco fell flat on its face again, underscoring the same issues that have plagued them all year.
The 49ers continue to fall apart in the fourth quarter. They did it against the Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals earlier in the season and then again on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes broke off a pair of crucial runs, leading the Chiefs on a scoring drive to put the game out of reach.
The 49ers' shine is wearing off. They need to find a way to overcome their defensive miscues and kick their offense into gear. Until then, their championship pedigree will continue to wane.
