Pittsburgh Steelers Offseason Grade
There are still moves to be done in Pittsburgh, but it's hard not to be impressed with what Omar Khan and company have done this offseason. The Steelers have found success in free agency and via trade, which isn't something Steeler Nation is accustomed to. There are still needs to tackle in the wide-ride receiver room, the secondary, and a big gaping hole at the center position, but the 2024 NFL Draft should see Pittsburgh take care of that business. Khan has been cooking this offseason, and it's clear that management has viewed this offseason as one where change was essential. They've made plenty of big moves, and it's almost assured there's more to come.

Russell Wilson Signing
After the Denver Broncos and Russell Wilson parted ways, it was almost a no-brainer for the Pittsburgh Steelers to show interest. After meeting with the Steelers brass, Wilson ultimately chose to sign a one-year deal with the Steelers for a shade over $1 million. With the Broncos paying him nearly $40 million next season, the Steelers were able to sign Wilson for peanuts. According to reports, the starting job is Wilson's, which should hardly be a surprise. Wilson should fit in seamlessly in an Arthur Smith-led offense and help elevate Pittsburgh's quarterback play.

Kenny Pickett Trade
After signing Wilson in free agency, the writing was on the wall for the former first-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers. You can make a case that the Steelers didn't give Kenny Pickett a ton of runway to succeed and that the coaching staff didn't utilize his skill set. We'll buy that. Still, how Pickett reacted to competition inside the Steelers quarterback room tells you all you need to know. The Steelers managed a vital pick swap with the Philadelphia Eagles, which should benefit Pittsburgh moving forward in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Justin Fields Trade
After signing Russell Wilson in free agency and trading Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Steelers were searching for a competent quarterback to back up their new starter in case anything went wrong. Wilson isn't getting any younger, and the Steelers must protect themselves. Trading for Justin Fields not only gives them a strong backup in 2024, but it also gives them a potential future franchise quarterback down the line. Fields wanted to be in Pittsburgh under Mike Tomlin and now gets his wish. Win-win.

Patrick Queen Signing
It's not like the Pittsburgh Steelers to go out and be big-name hunters in free agency, but that's precisely what they did in signing Patrick Queen. Let's get one thing straight, these aren't your Steelers of old. Queen gives the Steelers a linebacker they've been drastically missing over the last three seasons, which has the chance to elevate an already strong defense. This move is even more intriguing because the Steelers stole Queen from a division rival in Baltimore.
