Where to Watch Chargers vs Patriots

  • Location: Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, Massachusetts)
  • Time: 1:00 p.m. ET | Where to Watch: NFL Network
  • Spread: Chargers -4.5 | Moneyline: Chargers -225 | Total: 43.5

Chargers vs Patriots Best Bet ATS: Chargers -4.5 (-105)

The Chargers are still in the mix for the top wild-card spot in the AFC if they win their final two games. Even though the Patriots nearly played spoiled against the Bills last week, I find it hard to envision them putting together back-to-back performances of that nature. This is a young team with a young quarterback learning on the fly. I suspect we’ll see Jim Harbaugh’s team make a defensive statement in this matchup. Even with Drake Maye showing potential as a future franchise quarterback, the Patriots aren’t at the point in their rebuild where they have the weapons on both sides of the football to compete. I like for the Chargers to come out firing offensively and supply a heavy dose of running the football in the second half, ultimately pulling away to a touchdown victory.

Chargers vs Patriots Best Bet Total: UNDER 43.5 (-120)

It’s hard to envision these teams going back and forth in this matchup on offense. The Chargers have been known to drain the clock and attempt to dominate possession under Harbaugh. That recipe shouldn’t be difficult to recreate against a Patriots defense that you can move the football against. I’m not confident the same can be said for the Patriots, even with some noticeable improvements being made by their rookie signal-caller. The Chargers have the personnel on defense to make Maye rush his throws, while I don’t envision they’ll find a ton of success running the football, either. Look for the Chargers to limit New England enough to keep this under the number on Saturday afternoon.
