Ranking the Top 10 Potential Upsets for NFL Week 5

10. New York Giants @ Washington Commanders
This would not be all that surprising, especially given the ugly ways the Giants have found to win over the past couple of weeks. With Jayden Daniels returning from injury, the Giants have a chance to take advantage of some rust.
1. Tennessee Titans @ Houston Texans
The battle of the 0-4 AFC South teams on Sunday should be very interesting. Which team will break first? Which team will fall further into purgatory? While neither team has shown any real signs of life this season, something has to give. Watch out for the Titans, who could make this season even worse for Houston on Sunday as they continue to establish Carnell Tate as the No. 1 WR.
2. Philadelphia Eagles @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Imagine saying before the year that the Eagles winning any game would be an upset pick? Things have fallen off the rails with injuries and inconsistent play. All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson also just announced his retirement from the league. With everyone now counting them out, this feels like the typical upset spot where nobody expects it.
3. Miami Dolphins @ Cincinnati Bengals
Another team looking for its first victory in 2026 is the Miami Dolphins. The Bengals are expected to be the most popular pick in survivor pools this week, which always seems to be a recipe for disaster. The Dolphins have to win a game eventually, and this week seems like their best chance yet against a weak defense.
4. Detroit Lions @ Arizona Cardinals
On their home field, the Arizona Cardinals will host the Detroit Lions on Sunday. They are far from a finished product, but Arizona has shown the ability to put points on the board. The Lions own one of the league's worst defenses, making this a prime spot for Arizona to pick up a home victory.
5. Las Vegas Raiders @ New England Patriots
The Las Vegas Raiders have been one of the biggest surprises in the league this year. As crazy as it sounds, last week's loss to Kansas City may have validated them more than their first three wins of the season. This is clearly a new era in Vegas, and taking on the Patriots this Sunday, they will make another statement to the rest of the league.
6. Denver Broncos @ Los Angeles Chargers
Divisional games are never easy, no matter the current situation for either team. The Chargers eventually have to win a football game, and the Broncos still look flawed on both sides of the ball. If the Chargers want to salvage their season at all, on their home field against a struggling division rival seems like a prime opportunity.
7. San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks
Seattle remains one of the toughest environments for a road team in the entire NFL. There is perhaps no team or coach more familiar with, and more equipped to perform in, this environment than the 49ers. Kyle Shanahan and Brock Purdy will continue their COTY/MVP trajectories this weekend.
8. Buffalo Bills @ Los Angeles Rams
This matchup is the premier game on the Week 5 slate. The Bills are coming off their first loss of the season and will have a chip on their shoulder. As the Rams still look to get fully healthy, expect the Bills to play a cleaner brand of football than they did last week in New England.
9. Indianapolis Colts @ Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers will be slightly favored the majority of the time as long as they are playing at home. The Colts are starting to find the rhythm they had on offense in the first half of last season. They could give the Steelers issues on Sunday and force them to play a game they are not comfortable with: an offensive shootout.
