Defense Makes Joe Milton Uncomfortable
Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Joe Milton hasn't quite lived up to the hype in 2023. Many thought he would be in the Heisman discussion, but the Volunteers offense as a whole hasn't looked pretty. The job of the Georgia Bulldogs defense on Saturday will be to make Milton uncomfortable in the pocket and force him to make bad reads. Georgia knows what he can do with his legs; limiting that damage will be important.
Run the Football
With each passing week, the Georgia Bulldogs have continued to get better at running the football. Their offensive line has been elite, while Kendall Milton had a strong showing against Ole Miss. Milton brings a unique skill set to the table and is coming off rushing for 127 yards and two touchdowns. Milton getting going down the stretch and staying on the field will be a big key for this Bulldogs group.
Not One, but Two Running Backs
We just mentioned how running the football will be key against Tennessee, especially after they just allowed Cody Schrader to rush for 205 yards last week. Not only will Milton be relied upon in this matchup, but Daijun Edwards, too. The Bulldogs are fortunate enough to have a pair of explosive running backs, and it will be vital for them to use both on Saturday afternoon.
Georgia Receivers Continue Making Splash Plays
When he's been able to stay on the football field, Ladd McConkey has been productive for the Georgia Bulldogs in 2023. He's a key member of this wide receiver corps, and if the Bulldogs want to three-peat, they'll need him to continue separating and making plays. Mixing in some play action against this Volunteers defense will be important, and McConkey has the speed and big play ability to hurt you.
Carson Beck Manages Game at High Level
Carson Beck remains right there in the Heisman trophy discussion. After taking the reigns from Stetson Bennett, it's safe to say he's exceeded expectations. Beck has done a really nice job of managing games and limiting turnovers, which he'll need to continue doing in the loud environment of Tennessee on Saturday. Taking care of the football and making good reads is essential for this Georgia offense.
