Twins @ Dodgers – First Pitch: 3:10 p.m.
The MLB showdown between the Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Dodgers is set to be an exciting one, with Sonny Gray and Dustin May headlining the mound for their respective teams. The Dodgers, being the -141 favorite with a total of 8.5, could feel the heat with an early start on the West Coast.
Temperature conditions are expected to be in the mid-seventies, with double-digit winds blowing straight out, creating an ideal environment for some high-flying action. Both Gray and May have had commendable seasons so far, but there’s a catch with May. His tendency to occasionally lose the zone and walk a few guys could prove problematic, especially after a 5-1 loss last night.
The Dodgers, having burnt through the bullpen in a 12-inning long game and with Clayton Kershaw only lasting four innings on Tuesday, will be heavily dependent on May to carry them through this one. Despite the challenge, the total runs in the game could exceed expectations.
Although it might sound bold, the over/under, initially set at 8.5, seems to be pushing up to 9. Considering the favorable weather conditions and May’s potential to lose the zone, the game could see more runs than initially predicted. So, if you’re placing your bets, a potential over is a solid consideration for this matchup.
