Tier V: Arizona State, Stanford, Washington State & Colorado
The bottom tier in the final year of the PAC-12 belongs to Colorado, Arizona State, Washington State, and Stanford. None of these teams had more than two conference wins. Washington State is the best of the group, but they were outscored by 35 points in the league and are not going bowling. Stanford had the league's worst offense and worst defense, but still managed to win two conference games. Arizona State showed fight through a lot of injuries, but finished 3-9 and Colorado ended the season with six straight losses as Deion Sanders's first year in Boulder went off the rails.
Tier I: Washington Huskies
The Washington Huskies are all alone at the top of the final PAC-12 Power Rankings. The Huskies beat Oregon in the PAC-12 Championship Game and are 13-0. They now take on Texas in the Sugar Bowl in a College Football Playoff Semifinal showdown.
Tier II: Oregon Ducks
The Oregon Ducks finished 11-2 with both losses coming to the Washington Huskies. They are clearly behind Washington, but have separated themselves from everyone else in the PAC-12, so the Ducks are in tier two by themselves. With 369 points scored in the league and 144 points scored against, Oregon has the top offense and top defense in the league. Still, results are results and they lost twice to the Huskies.
Tier III: Arizona, Oregon State & Utah
How about the Arizona Wildcats? Jedd Fisch's crew was one of the biggest surprises of the year, going 9-3 and finishing with six straight wins. They are joined by Oregon State and Utah. Both sit at 8-4 (5-4) with wins over the teams below them and losses to the teams above them. The Beavers lost two in a row to end the season and head coach Jonathan Smith bolted to Michigan State.
Tier IV: USC, UCLA & California
Tier four hosts USC, UCLA, and California. The Trojans were incredibly disappointing in Lincoln Riley's second season, going 7-5 and surrendering 329 points in conference play. UCLA was in the opposite boat, giving up just 187 points but scoring only 188 points. California joins them with a 6-6 record, including three straight wins to end the season. The Golden Bears are not good, but they are going bowling and are a step above the teams in the bottom tier.
