KJ Jefferson (Arkansas)
KJ Jefferson offers another transfer portal target that has plenty of experience. There are some question marks with his arm, but you can make a strong case he's the most mobile candidate on this list. There's a lot to like about how Jefferson would fit in with the Buckeyes offense, even if there are some question marks, too.
Kyle McCord Enters Transfer Portal
With Kyle McCord entering the transfer portal, the Ohio State Buckeyes are now looking for a new starting quarterback. SportsGrid highlights five candidates they could target in the transfer portal.
Cameron Ward (Washington State)
Cameron Ward has the experience that the Buckeyes are looking for in a quarterback, with 42 collegiate starts to his name. Ward has a dynamic arm and can also beat you with his legs. Ward would be an upgrade on what the Buckeyes had in McCord, and it could be a mutually beneficial relationship to help bolster Ward's draft stock.
Riley Leonard (Duke)
Riley Leonard offers a big frame and high-end athleticism to go along with it. Leonard had his 2023 campaign cut short due to an ankle injury, but his 2022 numbers highlight what he's capable of. Notre Dame is reportedly high on his radar, but the Buckeyes could make things interesting if there's mutual interest.
DJ Uiagalelei (Oregon State)
It would be an understatement to say that DJ Uiagalelei's college-level career has been an up-and-down one. He's spent time at Clemson and, most recently, Oregon State. The former five-star prospect hasn't lived up to the hype, but he would be an interesting target for this offense. It's unlikely he's a top choice, but we'll see where the cards fall in the portal.
Dante Moore (UCLA)
Another former five-star prospect, Dante Moore, out of UCLA, would give the Buckeyes a lot of the qualities this program looks for in a quarterback. The talent is there for Moore, but we'd like to have seen more from him this season. With that being said, Moore is undoubtedly an intriguing target for Ohio State.
