MLB SGP: +1000 Baltimore Orioles @ Toronto Blue Jays

Ben DiGiacomo

Host · Writer

The Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays will begin their divisional series tonight north of the border, so we worked up an ultimate same-game parlay to give you action on the game.

Valued at +1000, let’s ride!

Leg 1: Grayson Rodriguez 5+ Strikeouts

The Blue Jays strike out at a bottom-half clip in all of baseball, but Grayson Rodriguez has nasty enough stuff to rack up five strikeouts. This season, Rodriguez has struck out at least five in eight of his nine starts, and looking back to last season, Rodriguez struck out at least five in all three of his meetings with the Jays.

Leg 2: Gunnar Henderson 1+ Run

We wanted to try to tout a player’s total base prop to boost the value of this SGP, but given that Rodriguez and Kevin Gausman are no slouches on the mound, we went a different route by touting Gunnar Henderson to cross the plate for a run. He’s scored a run in four of his last five games and has 44 on the season, tied for the fourth-most in all of baseball. Henderson is playing at an MVP level, and it is worth rolling the dice here.

Leg 3: Adley Rutschman 1+ Hit

Adley Rutschman has recorded a hit in nine of his last ten games, and while he doesn’t hit as well against right-handed pitching, he’s still a .300+ hitter who deserves our trust. He’ll see four ABs tonight at the minimum, so it makes enough sense that he should be able to get at least a single hit against Gausman, who hasn’t been his old elite self this season.

Leg 4: Ryan Mountcastle 1+ Hit

Ryan Mountcastle has a hit under his belt in ten of his last eleven games and has fared well against Gausman, going 6-14 at the plate. We trust he can get the job done for us.

Leg 5: Jordan Westburg 1+ Hit

Jordan Westburg is riding on a seven-game hit streak and hitting .313 on the season against right-handed pitching. He’s 2-6 in his brief career against Gausman, but we certainly like the odds of his hit streak continuing.

Leg 6: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1+ Hit

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has recorded at least a hit in 26 of his last 31 games, and he’s been a .304 hitter against right-handed pitching. He’s talented enough at the plate for us to have a ton of trust in him here.

Leg 7: Bo Bichette 1+ Hit

Bo Bichette hasn’t been hitting the ball that well lately, but sometimes, you have to ride with a gut feeling. After a rough March and April, Bichette rebounded with an intense May, where he sported a .280 average, but after a bad start to June, where he went hitless over the weekend, sometimes a talented player is just due! Plus, Bichette has fared very well against the Orioles in his career. This season, he’s already gone 5-7 at the plate while hitting .336 against them in his career.
