MLB SGP: +1100 Texas Rangers @ Houston Astros

We have a rematch of the ALCS between the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros tonight, so we worked up an ultimate same-game parlay for the action.

Valued at +1100, let’s ride!

Swing for the Fences with SportsGrid’s free daily MLB Game Picks and MLB Prop Picks.

Leg 1: Hunter Brown 5+ Strikeouts

Hunter Brown has struck out at least five batters in eight straight starts and pitched at least six innings in all of them. Regardless of the Rangers’ below-average strikeout rates, Brown will be out there long enough to navigate his way to five strikeouts.

Leg 2: Yordan Alvarez 2+ Total Bases

Yordan Alvarez has gone 8-18 in his career against Andrew Heaney at the plate, and since the start of June, over half of his hits have been for extra bases. We can have a ton of confidence that he will either get us two hits or a single extra-base hit tonight.

Leg 3: Jose Altuve 1+ Hit

Jose Altuve’s eight-game hit streak was snapped against the Miami Marlins last night. Looking at his production this season, Altuve has only gone consecutive games without a hit once. He’s hitting .317 in his career against Heaney, so we have no reason not to expect him to go hitless again.

Leg 4: Corey Seager 1+ Hit

Corey Seager has had a hit in 14 of his last 15 games, and while we trust that we’ll get at least six innings of work from Hunter Brown, he’s coming off a performance last week where he allowed seven runs off of 12 hits in six innings. While Brown shouldn’t be that bad tonight, we will not count on him to be lights out.

Leg 5: Marcus Semien 1+ Hit

Marcus Semien has gone 7-11 at the plate against Hunter Brown in his career… 7-11! You’re not going to get better production than that!

Leg 6: Josh Smith 1+ Hit

To close out our parlay, we’ll also target Josh Smith to get us a hit tonight, as he’s had a hit in seven of his last eight games and will have an optimal matchup against Brown. Brown is surrendering a .294 batting average on the season to left-handed batters. That’s good enough for me!
