MLB SGP: +1400 Philadelphia Phillies @ Minnesota Twins

After a fun weekend of baseball, we’re back tonight with an ultimate same-game parlay as the Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies in a matchup of two likely playoff squads. Ranger Suarez will take the ball for the Phillies, and Bailey Ober will start for the Twins, so let’s dive into what we have cooked up!

Valued at +1400, let’s ride!

Leg 1: Phillies ML

Ranger Suarez hasn’t had the best past few starts after a lights-out start to the season, but amidst those struggles, he was without JT Realmuto behind the plate, who returned from injury over the weekend. Could there be a correlation? We know Suarez is a talented arm who won’t struggle forever. On the other hand, the Twins struggled over the weekend and will continue to be without their best hitter, Carlos Correa. The Phils are the better team, so we trust they can get the job done on the road.

Leg 2: Ranger Suarez 4+ Strikeouts

On the season, the Twins collectively haven’t struck out a whole bunch as a team, but over the weekend, we saw the Twins strike out a combined 22 times. Ranger Suarez has struck out at least four batters in six of his last seven starts, so we hope the Twins strikeout rate at the plate continues enough for Suarez to get us four strikeouts.

Leg 3: Trea Turner 2+ Total Bases

Trea Turner is an extra-base machine, hitting .361 in July with nine home runs under his belt, showcased by an absurd .803 slugging percentage this month. Simply put, he deserves our trust to get either two hits or a single extra-base hit on a nightly basis against any opposing pitcher.

Leg 4: Alec Bohm 1+ Hit

Alec Bohm is hitting .313 against right-handed pitchers and .328 on the road this season, and he’s recorded at least a single hit in seven of his last eight games. What else is there to ask for?

Leg 5: Nick Castellanos 1+ Hit

Nick Castellanos rides the momentum wave rather drastically, and he enters tonight after an impressive weekend where he went 5-12 at the plate with four extra-base hits. He’s priced at just -185 to record a hit tonight, giving us a great value on someone swinging a hot bat.

Leg 6: Byron Buxton 2+ Total Bases

We need to find a Twin to enter into our parlay, so we’ll target a healthy Byron Buxton, who is hitting .400 in July. He’s recorded at least two total bases in nine of the last ten games where he started. Plus, despite being a switch-hitter, he’s notably better against left-handed pitchers. What else is there to ask for?
