Leg 1: Astros ML
Since their disastrous start to the season, the Astros have become nothing short of an absolute wagon. For the first time this season, the Astros sit on a record above .500, and we don’t imagine that stopping tonight. They’ll put Hunter Brown on the mound, who has figured it out lately, allowing just one earned run across his last four starts over a combined 25 innings of action. The Blue Jays will throw Yariel Rodriguez on the mound, who provides nothing for us to worry about if Brown continues his dominance.
Leg 2: Hunter Brown 5+ Strikeouts
Hunter Brown has recorded at least six strikeouts in six consecutive starts, and over the last two weeks, the Blue Jays have struck out at the eighth-highest clip in all of baseball. As an individual bet, target Brown to record six strikeouts at plus money.
Leg 3: Yordan Alvarez 2+ Total Bases
Yordan Alvarez had a dominant June as he recorded a .349 batting average, with 50% of all his hits during the month being for extra bases. He performs better on the road and against left-handed pitching, so we’ll trust he can find his way to at least two total bases tonight.
Leg 4: Jose Altuve 1+ Hit
Jose Altuve posted a .333 batting average in June and is hitting .348 on the season against lefties. Ideally, he could see five at-bats tonight, giving us enough confidence that he’ll find a way to get us a hit.
Leg 5: Mauricio Dubon 1+ Hit
Mauricio Dubon has recorded at least a single hit in 19 of his last 21 games. What else is there to ask for?
Leg 6: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1+ Hit
We’ll switch to the opposite dugout and tout Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to close out our parlay to get us a hit. While we have a ton of confidence in Hunter Brown to pitch an all-around dominant effort, Vlad Jr. has a .484 batting average across his last seven games and posts more substantial overall splits at home and against right-handed pitching.
