Leg 1: Phillies ML
The Phillies have been all over the place in recent weeks as they often looked dead in the water, and then there are other times when they show flashes of World Series potential. This past weekend, they won their series against a very formidable Kansas City Royals squad, combining for 22 runs over the final two games. Tonight, they’ll need that offense to carry over as they’ll be up against Ronel Blanco, but they’ll still hold the pitching advantage as Zack Wheeler is also set to take the mound. After a lengthy road trip, going back home should re-invigorate a Phils’ squad that desperately needs to go on a winning streak to restore some confidence.
Leg 2: Zack Wheeler 6+ Strikeouts
The Astros aren’t a team that we ever want to rely on striking out a ton, but Zack Wheeler is too elite that he can make the best swing and miss. He’s struck out at least six batters in eight straight starts leading into tonight, so we love the value we’re getting here.
Leg 3: Bryce Harper 2+ Total Bases
Bryce Harper went through a rough slump from July to mid-August, but we saw him show some pop this weekend as he’s recorded an extra-base hit in three straight games leading into tonight. He’s been a better hitter at home this season, and we expect him to want to make his mark in this game in front of his home crowd on national television. Blanco hasn’t been a complete shut-down starter lately, so we’ll look for Bryce to get us two total bases.
Leg 4: Alec Bohm 1+ Hit
We’ll keep this leg simple, as Alec Bohm has recorded a hit in 21 of his last 24 games. What else is there to ask for?
Leg 5: JT Realmuto 1+ Hit
JT Realmuto has gotten scorching hot at the plate as he’s recorded a hit in 10 of his last 11 games, but he’s fresh off a seven-RBI outing in his most recent game on Saturday. After an off day, we hope he comes in tonight refreshed and can get us a hit to continue his recent success.
Leg 6: Yanier Diaz 1+ Hit
Yanier Diaz has been one of the Astros’ most underappreciated hitters this season, and he’s currently riding a nine-game hit streak leading into tonight. What else is there to ask for?
