Best NBA Betting Picks for Thursday: 3-Game Parlay Predictions

Leg 1: Lakers -1.5

Where to Watch Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers

  • Arena: Crypto.com Arena
  • Location: Los Angeles, CA
  • Where to Watch: TNT/Tru TV
  • Time: 10:00 p.m. ET
  • Spread: LAL -1.5 | Total: 229.5
  • Moneyline: LAL -125 | GSW +105
  • Warriors vs Lakers Matchup Page

Two of the NBA’s most prominent franchises take to the court in a battle for Pacific Division supremacy. The Los Angeles Lakers sit 2.0 games up on the Golden State Warriors for the top spot in the division, and they’ll be looking to pad that lead at Crypto.com Arena.

After a brief skid, the Lakers have been on the rise of late. They’ve won three of their last four on the strength of improved offensive showings. Over that stretch, LA averaged 118.8 points per game, hitting 49.5% of their shots or more in all but one of those contests.

While the Warriors have also been on the rise, their performances are teetering on the wrong edge of unsustainable. Over their last two games, the Dubs have totaled 282 points, extending their win streak to three games. That puts Golden State substantially ahead of their regular-season average of 113.7 and at risk of regression heading into tonight’s tilt.

The Lakers are dynamite at home and should benefit from a more tepid offensive showing from the Warriors. We like their chances of covering the short number.

Leg 2: MIN-BKN Over 215.5

Where to Watch Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Brooklyn Nets

  • Arena: Barclays Center
  • Location: Brooklyn, NY
  • Where to Watch: FDSN, WLNY
  • Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
  • Spread: MIN -13 | Total: 215.5
  • Moneyline: MIN -850 | BKN +575
  • Timberwolves vs. Nets Matchup Page

The Brooklyn Nets’ season mercifully ends in a few short weeks, but not before they go on a late-season scoring surge. They carry the momentum of a modest two-game winning streak into tonight’s battle versus the Minnesota Timberwolves

Brooklyn’s offense has been a limiting factor all season, but the Nets have put together more complete efforts more recently. They’ve tallied 228 points over their last two, part of a longer ‘over’ trend. The 25-win Nets have eclipsed the total in four of their previous five, yielding an average total score of 220.8 points per game.

The T-Wolves have been on an even more pronounced run. Thanks to its unrelenting offense, Minnesota has gone over the total in six of its previous seven. They’re up to 124.1 points per game, sailing north of 123 in three straight.

Baskets will flow naturally, as these inter-conference foes continue their recent hot streak. Naturally, we’re taking a firm stance on the over.

Leg 3: Wizards +14

Where to Watch Orlando Magic vs Washington Wizards

  • Arena: Capital One Arena
  • Location: Washington, DC
  • Where to Watch: FDSFL
  • Time: 7:00 p.m. ET
  • Spread: ORL -14 | Total: 213.5
  • Moneyline: ORL -1000 | WSH +650
  • Magic vs. Wizards Matchup Page

The Washington Wizards pulled off the unthinkable yesterday, cashing outright as meaty +13 underdogs. While they may not be able to replicate that against the Orlando Magic, the Wizards should do enough to stay within +14 at home.

We anticipated Washington’s success against the Sacramento Kings, and they should be able to put together another solid showing versus Orlando. The Wizards are getting more out of their offense these days, and they’ve proven capable of covering hefty numbers. Including last night’s win, the Wiz are now 7-4 over their last 11 when listed as double-digit underdogs.

Moreover, the Magic aren’t the type of team to blow their opponents out of the water. Orlando’s success is premised on tough-nosed defensive basketball, not offensive efficiency. They rank last in the league in scoring, mustering just 105.0 points per game, with that number taking a slight hit over their last four.

The Wizards are trending positively; the same can’t be said for the Orlando Magic. More reckless bettors may be willing to take a shot with Washington on the moneyline. We’re taking a more conservative approach and are backing them against the spread.
