Brandin Podziemski 2+ Threes/Golden State to Win (+162)
Brandin Podziemski is relatively unknown within NBA circles. Still, Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors have been looking for their rookie guard to give them more offensively amid Klay Thompson’s regression. Podziemski made at least two threes in four consecutive games leading into the All-Star break, so I expect him to be assertive again tonight. The Warriors should beat a Los Angeles Lakers team without LeBron James tonight.
Jarrett Allen Double Double/Cleveland to Win (+112)
The Cleveland Cavaliers welcome the Orlando Magic to town. As a seven-point home favorite, the Cavs should find a way to win after taking 18 of their last 20 games heading into the All-Star break. Jarrett Allen has had a double-double in 21 of his previous 24 games, so at +112, the value is there for both parties to cash.
Myles Turner 20+ Points/Indiana to Win (+124)
The Indiana Pacers host the pitiful Detroit Pistons tonight. It's hard to back the Pistons in any capacity for the remainder of the season after they sold off a bunch of rotation players at the trade deadline. We’ll target Myles Turner to drop 20 points for the Pacers, knowing how poor the Pacers are at defending opposing centers. In addition, Turner has averaged 23 points per game across two meetings against Detroit. At +124, this is good value.
Lauri Markkanen 25+ Points/Utah to Win (+140)
The Utah Jazz will face the Charlotte Hornets tonight. While the Hornets were on a three-game winning streak heading into the All-Star break, I won’t count on their 5-20 road record. The Hornets are one of the worst teams in the league defensively against offensively big men, so I’m looking for Lauri Markkanen to give us 25 points. Plus, he dropped 33 points in Charlotte in late January. At +140, this is a worthwhile bet.
Nikola Jokic 30+ Points/Denver to Win (+134)
Nikola Jokic has had 30 points in 17 of 53 games this season. Still, he faces the Washington Wizards tonight, the worst defensive team against opposing centers, as evidenced by Jokic’s season-high 42-point performance against them last month. After a three-game losing streak heading into the All-Star break, I expect Jokic and the Denver Nuggets to want to lay it on the Wizards, so at +134, the value is here.
