5 Potential Upsets for Saturday’s College Basketball Slate

Virginia (+122) over North Carolina
Nobody commands the floor like Virginia at home. The Cavaliers will almost undoubtedly be able to keep this one close with their defense alone, and it'll come down to their ability to execute on the offensive end for them to pull off the upset. The Tar Heels feel the most comfortable on the run, and it'll be difficult to do that with Virginia seeking half-court sets every time down the floor. We'll back the Hoos to pull it off here and solidify their fate as an NCAA Tournament team this season with an all-important Quad 1A victory.
Utah (+230) over Colorado
Nobody needs a win for the NCAA Tournament hopes more than these two. Both Pac-12 squads are currently sitting on the wrong side of the bubble, but a win here could get them back in the conversation. The Utes were able to take advantage of their backcourt matchups when these two met three weeks back with Deivon Smith and Gabe Madsen combined for 38 points. Look for them to exploit the same matchups on Saturday night, and we'll take them at an attractive plus-money price to get it done on the road here.
Texas A&M (+470) over Tennessee
When betting on underdogs, aim for high volatility. Opt for teams with the potential to either suffer a significant defeat or achieve a remarkable upset, rather than consistently losing by a moderate margin. Texas A&M exemplifies this pattern, showcasing both remarkable victories and disappointing losses against lower-ranked opponents. Despite the possibility of a heavy defeat, their track record demonstrates an ability to triumph in challenging matchups, even when away from home.
Butler (+176) over Seton Hall
Without context, it's easy to look at Butler's three-game losing streak and wonder what has gone wrong in the past few outings. But with a closer look, it's easy to see their three defeats came to Marquette, Creighton, and on the road to Villanova. We're not ready to give up on the Bulldogs yet, who have shown the ability to get it done away from home this season with wins over Boise State, Marquette, and Creighton. Back Butler in a desperate spot here against Seton Hall.
Oklahoma (-106) over Oklahoma State
Oklahoma's been in a bit of a tailspin and has fallen a few seed lines in our bracketology projections, and now they face a tricky landmine road spot in the latest renewal of Bedlam. Winning won't do much for their resumé, but a defeat here could see them start to flirt with the bubble. The Sooners are simply more talented, and they'll want to complete the season sweep here over their biggest rivals. Back them to do so at a surprising slight underdog price.
