Predicting Top 5 Final Four NBA Draft Prospects Right Now: Clingan, Edey or Castle up Top?

5. Mark Sears, PG, Alabama
A bit of a flier here with Mark Sears after a much-improved season and stellar tournament.
Sears has upped his offensive efficiency all over the floor while increasing his PPG rate by around ten since last year.
He will undoubtedly be a late second round pick, and if he can somehow get Alabama to Monday night, talk of him going undrafted will disappear faster than a cut mesh in Glendale.

1. Donovan Clingan, C, UConn
While countdowns typically start backward, there is no point when the Final Four player to be picked highest in the 2024 NBA Draft is this much of a no-brainer.
Donovan Clingan has heightened his stock this tournament, and with UConn the odds on favorite (-185) to win their back-to-back title, he should have two more games to showcase his skill in the paint. The 7'2" Huskie is a beast inside on both ends of the court. Clingan shot nearly 65% from the field and averaged 2.5 BPG this season on the defensive end.

In a draft that isn't very top-heavy, the Bristol, CT native will go in the top 10.

2. Zach Edey, C, Purdue
The hefty favorite to win the Final Four's Most Outstanding Player may be in the two slot as part of my Canadian bias.
- Zach Edey +195
- Tristen Newton +340
- Donovan Clingan +340
- Cam Spencer +500
- Stephon Castle +2000
But Zach Edey continues to prove that doubters are wrong with every given game.

After picking up his back-to-back CBB Player of the Year on Friday, Edey etched his name into the college hoops record book. The Toronto, Canada native became the first player to win two straight since Ralph Sampson in 1983.
Critics of Edey once labeled him two-slow, too much of a defensive liability on the perimeter, and a player that would struggle to fit into this run-and-gun, three-point barrage NBA era.
A year after his second-round draft status was being debated, Edey is a lock to go inside the top 15.
Don't forget this 7'3", 300-pound man-child only started hooping seven years ago.

3. Stephon Castle, SG UConn
Depending on where the draft chips fall, Stephon Castle can take over Edey and go a few spots ahead of him. He's highly coachable, the best defending guard in the draft, and is a freak athlete.
The 19-year-old will never be a big-time scorer but has some attributes like the LA Lakers, Cam Reddish. If his shooting improves, don't be surprised to see Castle start somewhere in short order.
While a longshot at +2000, if he has a pair of big games for the Huskies and can snatch Final Four MOP from Edey, he could go late in the top-ten.

4. Alex Karaban, F, UConn
There is a fair bit of seperation after our top three, where Huskies forward Alex Karaban will almost certainly be a second round selection.
The 6'8" sophomore plays well off the ball and has good footwork on both ends of the floor.
He should go mid second round in June.
