5. Colorado Buffaloes
Deion Sanders has no problem doing things differently. He has eschewed traditional high school recruiting in favor of building nearly exclusively through the transfer portal. Colorado is an underdog in this recruitment as they do not have the immediate winning opportunity or the NIL resources Damonic Williams's other four reported visits have to their advantage. However, Sanders has a proven track record of landing portal recruits, so they cannot be discounted. Williams is scheduled to visit Boulder on April 26 and 27.
Colorado 2024 Win Total: 5.5
1. Oklahoma Sooners
TCU defensive tackle Damonic Williams is one of the top defensive linemen available in the spring transfer window, and the California native is garnering significant attention from some of the game’s top programs. Defensive linemen are a hot commodity, and Williams has had two seasons of proven production for the TCU Horned Frogs defense, with two seasons remaining of eligibility. His first visit was on Saturday as he took in the Oklahoma Sooners Spring Game in Norman, Oklahoma. Head coach Brent Venables needs at least one significant addition on the defensive line, and Williams is a top priority for Oklahoma.

2. Texas Longhorns
Damonic Williams immediately lined up two visits after entering the transfer portal. The first was to Oklahoma, and the second visit was to the University of Texas. Head coach Steve Sarkisian has to replace two interior defensive linemen who helped Texas have one of the top rushing defenses in the nation in 2023. Williams would have a chance to start immediately for Texas. At the very least, he would be a big part of the rotation for the Longhorns, and his addition would help soften the blow of the departures. Texas has added well through the portal this offseason and the defensive line is the last real need the roster has.

3. LSU Tigers
LSU head coach Brian Kelly completely revamped his defensive staff after a disastrous performance by that unit in 2023. The offense was good enough to contend for a national title, but the defense prevented LSU from being anything more than a pretty good team. With public comments, Kelly clarified that LSU needed to add a couple of defensive tackles. The Tigers have inserted themselves into the market for TCU transfer Damonic Williams, lining up a visit after Wiliams goes to see Oklahoma and Texas.

4. Oregon Ducks
The Oregon Ducks are heading to the Big Ten and would like Damonic Williams to bolster their defensive line. Williams racked up 60 tackles in his first two seasons of play in Fort Worth, and Hayes Fawcett of On3 reports that Williams is visiting Oregon. The exact date of the visit has not been determined, but it will need to come sometime in early May after earlier visits to Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, and LSU.
