Malik Nabers - WR
Although it seems likely the New England Patriots will select their next franchise quarterback, you can't rule out some of the explosive weapons near the top of this draft class. Malik Nabers has generated some buzz lately, and there are reportedly some teams who've graded him as the top wideout in this draft class. Although that's not our belief, he's still a burner and an explosive playmaker, which holds a lot of value. In saying that, who would throw him the ball in New England?

Drake Maye - QB
Drake Maye's pro-style tendencies make him an appealing option in the draft. There was a time when Maye seemed to be slotted as the second name off the board at the 2024 NFL Draft. There's still a real chance he's selected second, but it's no longer as clear-cut as it once appeared. If the Commanders don't select Maye, will the New England Patriots pass on him? It's not out of the realm of possibility. The Patriots need a franchise quarterback as if they need oxygen, and it's hard to see them passing up whichever quarterback remains out of Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Maye with the third overall pick.

Jayden Daniels - QB
The excitement and buzz surrounding Jayden Daniels is real, not just because he's the reigning Heisman Trophy recipient. Daniels is a dual-threat signal-caller, which has become seemingly more attractive in the modern-day NFL. After throwing for nearly 4,000 yards and rushing for over 1,000, the talent is undeniable from the former LSU Tiger. Daniels has been hovering around the top five, with many speculating he'll be taken second overall by the Washington Commanders. If Daniels is available with the third pick, and the odds suggest there's a real chance he is, it's hard to see him slipping by the New England Patriots.

J.J. McCarthy - QB
The steam surrounding J.J. McCarthy leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft has been growing. Many are asking whether or not it's real enough to see him selected ahead of either Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels. A team can fall in love with his skill set, even if that wouldn't be our preference at this juncture of the draft. McCarthy has a business-like attitude, and teams will like his winning pedigree.

Marvin Harrison Jr. - WR
One thing is sure: Marvin Harrison Jr. has the talent to be the first non-quarterback off the board. With a very deep wideout class, that's one thing going against him at the top of the draft, even if he's widely regarded as the top receiver available. If the Patriots opted to select a non-quarterback at third overall, there's a solid case to be made that Harrison Jr. would be the selection, even if that's an unlikely premise judging by the current odds.
