They Did It...Again
The Kansas City Chiefs can't keep getting away with this, or can they? Patrick Mahomes and company secured their third straight win and improved to 12-1 this season. The Chiefs made another strong defensive effort and did just enough offense to secure the win. If the game-winning field goal, including a doink off the upright and in, doesn't sum up the Chiefs this season, I'm not sure what does.
Locked up Division
With the win on Sunday Night Football against the Chargers, the Kansas City Chiefs locked up the AFC West for the ninth consecutive season. Talk about the run of a dynasty. The Chiefs might not win in the prettiest fashion every week, but they continue to get the job done and are well on their way to a potential first-round bye in the playoffs. The AFC bracket going through Arrowhead is terrible news for the rest of the conference.

Defense Steals the Show
It's become evident for anyone who's covered the Kansas City Chiefs over the last few years. As much as Mahomes is an elite quarterback and will go down as one of the best ever, the Chiefs are built around their defense. That was again evident in Week 14 against the Chargers, where they held them under 20 points and secured another defensively sound win. Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo deserves all the credit in the world.
Need More From the WR
When the Kansas City Chiefs moved up in the 2024 NFL Draft to select Xavier Worthy, they thought he could stretch the field and add a different dimension to this offense. To this point, there's been too much inconsistency in his game, and he often looks slightly lost with his routes. Worthy isn't the only part of this wide receiver core that isn't performing up to snuff, but he's the most noteworthy with the expectations surrounding him after the injuries this offense has suffered.
Tershawn Wharton Factors in Heavily
It won't always be the household names on defense that will factor into the equation for the Chiefs. Tershawn Wharton dominated Sunday Night Football, finishing with a pair of sacks in the tight victory. On any given night, multiple defenders on the Chiefs can eat with what they put together schematically.
