It’s hard to believe, but at 10-4, the Green Bay Packers still haven’t clinched a postseason berth. After Sunday’s results, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks are the only two NFC teams with a shot of usurping the Packers. However, the Washington Commanders separate Green Bay from the two playoff hopefuls. Still, a win against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football moves the Packers to 11 wins and assures them of a spot in this year’s playoffs. With the Lambeau faithful at their backs and emboldened by a 14-point spread, it’s just a formality before the Packers claim their postseason berth.

Saints vs Packers MNF Best Bet ATS: Packers -14.5

Quarterback issues continue to hamper the Saints’ betting prospects. Derek Carr has been ruled out for Monday night’s NFC showdown. New Orleans will have to turn to one of its more inexperienced signal-callers on primetime. Earlier this season, the Saints turned to Spencer Rattler to lead the team when Carr was unavailable. However, Rattler’s performances were so underwhelming that they turned to Jake Haener last time out. Haener’s effort was even more troublesome, forcing the Saints to return to Rattler in Week 16. Irrespective of who is under center, the Saints’ offense still can’t get anything going. Over the past three weeks, including Carr’s two starts, the Saints are averaging just 288.0 yards and 15.7 points per game. Assuredly, that downward trajectory will continue against an imposing Packers’ defense. Green Bay gives up the ninth-fewest yards and the eighth-fewest points. Not surprisingly, their standing in both categories improves at Lambeau Field. Combined with their seventh-ranked scoring offense, there will be no stopping them in Week 16.

Saints vs Packers MNF Best Bet Total: Under 42.5

This total reflects the Saints’ limited offensive ceiling. Moreover, we don’t think they can do enough to send this game over its total. At home, the Packers limit opponents to an average of 18.1 points and 298.4 yards per game. The Saints are averaging a paltry 15.0 points per game in three starts under Rattler. It’s also worth noting that most of those points came in his first start against the Bucs after Tampa Bay had established a 17-0 lead and taken its foot off the pedal. There will be no such letdown from the Packers. Green Bay has been one of the most reliable teams in the league over the past month. Since Week 11, they’ve gone 4-1 straight up while covering the spread in all but one of those contests. Further, they’ve stayed beneath the total in three of those five outings. Those trends continue in what should be a low-scoring and one-sided affair.

Saints vs Packers MNF Best Player Props

Josh Jacobs Over 89.5 Rushing Yards + Anytime Touchdown Scorer -290

Jordan Love has done his part to transform this Packers’ offense, but it’s time to recognize Josh Jacobs for his contributions. In his first season in Green Bay, Jacobs has found his place on offense. The former All-Pro has 89 carries over the past four games, totaling 309 yards and eight touchdowns. That sets the standard for what to expect on Monday Night Football. New Orleans hemorrhages yards on the ground, giving up an average of 134.4 rushing yards per game or 4.9 yards per carry. Undoubtedly, Jacobs will expose those shortcomings on Monday night, en route to more than 89.5 rushing yards and cashing as an anytime touchdown scorer.
