New York Mets vs. Colorado Rockies Spread, Line, Odds, Predictions, Picks and Betting Preview

Mets @ Rockies – First Pitch: 8:40 p.m.

Expected Forecast: Moderate Rain, 60°

The New York Mets are stepping up to the plate against the Colorado Rockies in what promises to be an exciting encounter. Can the Mets keep up the momentum from their solid performance yesterday? Let’s dive into the details.

On the mound for New York, we have Max Scherzer, a well-known name in the world of baseball. But don’t let his reputation fool you – he hasn’t been in the best of form this season. Despite this, there’s been a glimmer of hope as he’s shown signs of recovery recently. However, his 4.64 xFIP over the last 30 days is slightly high, and his K rate sits at 23%. His splits against batters aren’t too bad, holding a .306 weighted on-base percentage against lefties and a .280 against righties. It’ll be interesting to see how he fares today against the Rockies’ lineup in Mile High.

Meanwhile, the Rockies are putting their faith in Connor Seabold, who’s been having a rough season so far. His 5.60 xFIP over the last 30 days and a K rate of 15% do raise some concerns. The splits are even more worrying, with lefties boasting a .356 weighted on-base percentage and righties an even higher .438. This could spell good news for the Mets’ bats, who have been somewhat quiet this month.

Interestingly, Scherzer’s performance seems to vary greatly depending on where he’s playing. His home game stats are impressive, with no earned runs in two starts. On the road, however, his ERA is hovering around 6.00. Now he’s heading into Coors Field as a -210 favorite. The big question is, can he uphold his name value in practice?

Even with the total set at 11.5, there’s still reason to believe the Rockies could step up at home and push this game over
