New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays Spread, Line, Odds, Predictions, Picks and Betting Preview

Yankees @ Blue Jays – First Pitch: 7:07 p.m.

Expected Forecast: Broken Clouds, 51°

The Toronto Blue Jays are set to battle the New York Yankees in the four-game series final, with Jose Berrios and Nestor Cortes as the respective starting pitchers. Being the home side, the Blue Jays are favorites at -140, with a higher game total of nine.

This season has been a rollercoaster for Yankees’ starter Nester Cortes. His ERA is just above five. Over the past 30 days, it’s been particularly rough for him, with an xFIP north of six. As a left-handed pitcher, his splits don’t look good either. He’s struggled against both lefties and righties, posting a .349 weighted on-base percentage and .333 ISO against lefties and .356 weighted on-base percentage and .220 ISO against righties.

The Toronto lineup is packed with power hitters, making the high game total unsurprising. Over Cortes’s last three outings, he’s allowed seven, two, and six earned runs, respectively. His only decent performance was against the offensively challenged Athletics, which could translate to at least four or five runs against a more formidable Blue Jays lineup.

Considering these factors, bettors could anticipate a high-scoring game, going over the set game total. This matchup looks favorable for the Blue Jays, given the struggles of the Yankees’ starting pitcher.
