Yesterday, the Mets’ offense had a dismal performance, and Justin Verlander had a rough start. Now, we’re at a juncture where the Rays opened as almost a pick ’em, which is an enticing position for bettors. Sometimes, the line may seem like a trap, but as the saying goes, “If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it’s probably a duck." And in this case, the value on the Rays might be too good to pass up.
If we examine New York’s recent schedule, it’s evident that they have struggled against higher-level opponents. They haven’t been winning much, and now they’re facing a Rays lineup that’s probably the best they’ve encountered in a month.
Senga, the Mets’ pitcher, has had a mixed performance, with some stellar moments as well as a few issues. Despite his potential, the value Tampa brings to the table at this price is hard to ignore. New York will need to start winning games soon, but it seems unlikely that a victory will come against the formidable Rays.
