MLB All-Star Game: National League Top Props

The MLB All-Star Game is upon us, so here are our favorite National League prop bets as the league’s best from both leagues square off in Arlington.

Swing for the Fences with SportsGrid’s free daily MLB Game Picks and MLB Prop Picks.

Bryce Harper To Record a Hit (+100)

As accomplished as Bryce Harper is in his career and with the Phillies, he’s never represented them in the All-Star Game due to a combination of slow starts and untimely injuries. He’s acknowledged that he wants to make a statement in the All-Star Game representing the Phils, and is there a player in baseball who relishes the biggest stages more than Bryce Harper? He always rises to the occasion and takes pride in being an entertainer. What better setting than the All-Star Game? At a +100 price, we’ll look for one of his two at-bats to be a hit.

Shohei Ohtani to Record a Hit (-110)

It wouldn’t shock me if Shohei Ohtani ends up with three at-bats as the designated hitter. At the minimum, we can count on him to get to the plate at least twice. In the spotlight, on the biggest stage, and as the biggest star, we’ll look for him to get a hit at a sweet -110 price.

William Contreras to Record a Hit (+115)

William Contreras will get to face his former teammate Corbin Burnes in his first at-bat, and before becoming a Brewer, Contreras was 4-11 in his career against Burnes. As the NL’s starting catcher, we have a ton of confidence that he’ll get multiple at-bats, and he should want to get to the better of his former teammate in that first at-bat. At +115, we’ll have two opportunities, with one of those having a ton of extra motivation.

Trea Turner to Record a Home Run (+900)

Trea Turner has been scorching hot at the plate in July, as he’s batting .417 with eight home runs under his belt. He’s priced way down the list of guys to record a home run at +900, and it’s tough to pinpoint any of the guys in front of him putting the baseball out of the ballpark more frequently than he is right now. Plus, in two of his last three games where he had a home run, it came in the first inning. He sees Burnes better than most, as he has gone 4-10 in his career against him. At +900, I love the price I’m getting here.

Elly De La Cruz All-Star Game MVP (+2500)

If Turner gets the home run that we’re hoping for, he’s as live as anyone to claim the All-Star MVP honors at +1800, but looking through the reserves who will be at the plate late in the game in crunch time, is there anyone that wants to put on a show more than Elly De La Cruz? He can send a ball out of the ballpark and steal a bag or two. If he makes a notable highlight late in the game that aids the NL’s victory, this is his award. At +2500, the value is certainly there to take a flier.
