MLB Betting Guide for August 5: NL’s Top Teams Square Off

After a fun weekend of baseball around the MLB, we’re back with our betting guide ahead of tonight’s nine-game slate. Let’s dive into everything you need to know.

Kicking off the slate, in the evening, the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets will meet for a single game in St. Louis due to past postponements, but this game still has a ton of importance as both teams are fighting for the final NL wild card spots. This should be a fun one to kick off the night.

Later on, we have an ALCS rematch as the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers will meet in Arlington as we still wait for the Rangers to hit their stride and make a run for an AL Wild Card spot. The Astros, too, could use a strong week as the Seattle Mariners have retook the AL West lead. Additionally, we will have a fun matchup between other AL playoff hopefuls as the Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals square off.

To close out the night, we’ll head to Southern California, where the National League’s top two teams, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Los Angeles Dodgers, will face off. Given the Phillies’ recent struggles, the Dodgers are just 1.5 games back of the Phillies for the top seed in the NL, bringing another level of excitement to this series. As a result, we worked up a +1400 ultimate same-game parlay for the action.
