TB Randy Arozarena to Hit a Home Run (+240)
The Tampa Bay Rays travel to the launching pad that is Coors Field and face struggling lefthander Austin Gomber in the Rockies’ home opener, a salivating opportunity for Rays right-handed power bats. Randy Arozarena catches our eye here, owning a .513 slugging percentage, a 42.9% flyball rate, and .227 ISO against southpaws over the past two seasons. He’s off to a good start in 2024, with two home runs in the opening week. His lone hit in three career at-bats against Gomber was a home run. The Rockies southpaw struggled mightily in his first start, working just 4.2 innings and giving up five runs on six hits, including two long balls. Over 2022-23, Gomber has allowed a lofty 1.54 HR/9 to right-handed bats.
NYY Gleyber Torres 2+ Total Bases (+110)
A favorable home matchup awaits Gleyber Torres as the New York Yankees face Blue Jays lefthander Yusei Kikuchi. In 22 career at-bats against the southpaw, Torres owns a sizzling .409/.435/.636 slash line, including a home run. Over the past two seasons, the Yankees’ second baseman has hit lefthanders well, posting a .539 slugging percentage and .273 ISO. Kikuchi endured a laborious first start, throwing 90 pitches across just 4.1 innings while surrendering two homers. Torres is off to a bit of a slow start, but at plus money, the matchup looks too good to ignore.
PHI Alec Bohm 3+ Total Bases (+230)
The Philadelphia Phillies enjoy an excellent road matchup facing Washington Nationals lefty Patrick Corbin. Alec Bohm has owned Corbin in his career, slashing .363/.440/.773 with two home runs in 22 at-bats. The third baseman has hit an impressive .328 versus southpaws over the past two seasons. Corbin was battered by the Reds in his 2024 debut, allowing four runs on seven hits, including two home runs in just 4.1 innings of work. The veteran is coming off a miserable 2023 campaign, posting a 5.20 ERA while yielding a lofty 1.7 HR/9 and a .293 opposing batting average. Bohm could go yard in this one, but the 3+ total base value jumps out here.
