Leg 1: Phillies ML
The Phillies boast an 11-3 record this season when Aaron Nola gets the start, and looking at the other dugout, Michael King of the Padres allowed six earned runs in his previous start against the Phillies this season. The Phils have the better pitcher, better offense, and the home-field advantage, which gives us more than enough confidence that they’ll pull out the win.
Leg 2: Aaron Nola 4+ Strikeouts
Aaron Nola has struck out at least four batters in 11 of his 14 starts this season. However, in his start in San Diego in late April, Nola struck out a season-high ten batters in that outing. He still has the same electric stuff, so we trust he can get at least four today.
Leg 3: Alec Bohm 2+ Total Bases
Alec Bohm is amid an absolute tear right now as he’s gone 11-18 at the plate across his last four games, with at least an extra-base hit in every game. He went 2-4 earlier this season against King, so we trust he can continue his hot streak at the plate for at least two total bases tonight.
Leg 4: Bryce Harper 1+ Hit
Bryce Harper has had at least a hit in 13 of his last 16 games and boasts a .316 batting average at home. We have no reason to expect him to be blanked at the plate today, so we’ll confidently ride the Phils’ most dangerous bat.
Leg 5: Kyle Schwarber 1+ Hit
Kyle Schwarber has recorded at least a hit in nine of his last ten games, and he’s gone 2-4 against King in his career. That’s good enough for me!
Leg 6: Luis Arraez 1+ Hit
Luis Arraez is only a .250 hitter in June, but we know he’s one of the best volume hitters in the league who can slap a hit into play every night. He’s gone 3-9 in his career against Nola, but he deserves some trust tonight.
Leg 7: Fernando Tatis Jr. 1+ Hit
Fernando Tatis Jr. has a hit in 19 of his last 22 games, and statistically, he’s a much better hitter against right-handed pitching and on the road. We’ll look for his talent to win out here. Let’s ride!
