We have a fun afternoon battle to look forward to today as the New York Yankees aim to pull off a four-game sweep of the Kansas City Royals today. Nestor Cortes takes the mound for the Yankees while Alec Marsh gets the start for the Royals, but the ultimate story is how dominant AL MVP frontrunner Aaron Judge has been at the plate. It should be a fun matchup, so we worked up an ultimate same-game parlay to have you covered for the matchup.

Leg 1: Yankees ML
The Yankees deserve the respect these days to back them in any given matchup, and today, they have the reliable pitcher on the mound in Nestor Cortes while having the better offense that’s absolutely humming right now. It’s as simple as that for us!
Leg 2: Nestor Cortes 4+ Strikeouts
The Royals don’t strike out a lot as a team, but Nestor Cortes has had at least four strikeouts in 12 consecutive starts. Unless the Royals’ offense jumps on him early and the Yankees are forced to make an early call to the bullpen, Cortes should be in the game long enough to navigate his way to four strikeouts again.
Leg 3: Aaron Judge 2+ Total Bases
Aaron Judge is the hottest hitter on the planet right now, so we’re touting him to record at least two total bases, as he’s done in ten of his last 12 games. We must ride the hot bat as far as he’ll take us!
Leg 4: Alex Verdugo 1+ Hit
Alex Verdugo is currently riding a seven-game hit streak, and he gets a favorable matchup against the right-handed Alec Marsh, who isn’t elite enough on the mound to stop Verdugo’s streak. Obviously, anything can happen, but Verdugo will have the edge in the matchup, and like the rest of the Yankees’ lineup, he’s swinging a hot bat.
Leg 5: Bobby Witt Jr. 2+ Total Bases
Outside of Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt Jr. is arguably the best player on the field today, and he’s been one of baseball’s most elite hitters all season. He’s recorded at least two total bases in each game with the Yankees thus far this series, so we hope he tries to put his team on his back today to avoid the sweep.
Leg 6: Salvador Perez 1+ Hit
Salvador Perez hasn’t had the greatest start to June, as he’s batting just .182 in the month, but he has a good track record against Nestor Cortes in his career, going 4-9 at the plate against him. He’s too talented of a hitter to stay cold, so ideally, he’ll dig up some old film on what worked well for him in the past against Cortes for today’s matchup.
