Leg 1: Phillies ML

The Phillies have Taijuan Walker on the mound tonight, who is the worst of the Phillies’ group of starters, but at the same time, Jordan Montgomery hasn’t been someone we can trust. The Phils should be angry with how they collapsed in the postseason last year, and while they may say this is just another game in June, they should be looking for revenge. Additionally, the Phillies are hosting a pregame ceremony to honor the retirement of Cole Hamels, so the ballpark should be jumping early. We’ll trust the better team to find a way to win.

Leg 2: Taijuan Walker 4+ Strikeouts

Taijuan Walker has struck out at least four in eight of his nine starts this season, and the Diamondbacks have combined for 22 strikeouts over their past two games. Walker will be in the game long enough to have every opportunity to rack up four Ks.

Leg 3: Bryce Harper 1+ Hit

Bryce Harper is hitting .333 in June, recording at least a hit in 13 of 16 games. He’s been a much better hit in his home ballpark this season, slashing a .319 batting average there compared to just .241 on the road, so we’ll trust that he’ll be motivated to have a dominant game against a struggling pitcher in front of a sold-out Friday night crowd.

Leg 4: Kyle Schwarber 1+ Hit

Kyle Schwarber is known for having dominant Junes, and he’s amid a remarkable streak right now as he’s had a hit in 10 of his last 12 games. He’s hitting .339 this season against lefties, so he should be able to get on a ball from Montgomery and hopefully send it out of the park.

Leg 5: Ketel Marte 1+ Hit

Ketel Marte has had at least a hit in 12 of his last 16 games, and while we need a solid outing from Walker tonight, he won’t pitch a shutout. With the way Marte has been swinging the bat with his .333 June batting average, he’ll have every opportunity to put a ball in play.

Leg 6: Joc Pederson 1+ Hit

Joc Pederson has been a .299 hitter against right-handed pitching this season, and he’s posted dominant numbers against Walker in his career, going 11-26 at the plate for a .423 batting average. We don’t expect that to change tonight.
