Phillies Acquire Carlos Estevez to Strengthen Bullpen
General Manager Dave Dombrowski was not satisfied with the Phillies' mid-pack bullpen ERA and sought a reliable arm for late-inning duties. Carlos Estevez, with his 2.38 ERA and ranking 10th in the league for saves, brings experience and consistency to Philadelphia. While Jose Alvarado and Jeff Hoffman have shared closing duties with 13 and 9 saves respectively, Estevez’s proven track record with 51 saves in 97 appearances over two seasons positions him as a potential key closer.
The Prospects Heading to the Angels
George Klassen: Klassen has been a standout in the prospect world, boasting a 1.97 ERA and an impressive arsenal of pitches across 59.1 innings between Single-A and High-A.
Samuel Aldegheri: Aldegheri has excelled with a 3.23 ERA and 109 strikeouts in 78 innings between High-A and Double-A. His 34% strikeout rate prompted a recent promotion to Double-A, making him a promising addition to the Angels' farm system.
