Lawrence Butler's Early Struggles and Resurgence
Lawrence Butler started 2024 with high hopes but initially struggled at the plate. After a slow start in the majors, which included a 67 wRC+ and a near-30% strikeout rate, Butler was sent down to Triple-A. However, he returned with improved plate discipline and on-base skills, quickly rejoining the big league club. Since June 18th, Butler has been unstoppable, slashing .309/.343/.630, leading to a 172 wRC+, and proving his worth as a future star for the A's.
