All rise for Aaron Judge.

We might remain standing for some time, as Judge once again secures the top spot in our hitter power rankings. There’s no sign of him relinquishing this position anytime soon. The New York Yankees’ captain is on track to claim the 2024 AL MVP award, despite strong challenges from Gunnar Henderson and even teammate Juan Soto.

Currently, Judge is in a league of his own, drawing comparisons to Barry Bonds as perhaps the closest we've seen since Bonds himself.

While this comparison might seem larger than life, Judge fully merits it.

10. Trea Turner
2024 stats: 256 plate appearances, .349/.395/.546, 11 HR, .407 wOBA, 165 wRC+

Trea Turner has participated in only 57 games this season due to injuries, yet his performance at the plate since returning to the Phillies lineup is undeniable.

Through 12 games in July, the veteran shortstop has smashed eight home runs and boasts a 278 wRC+. Yes, you heard correctly. This explosive performance follows a solid 122 wRC+ in June. While he may not maintain this incredible pace, Turner's current form has certainly secured him a place in these rankings.

After all, this is the July hitter power rankings.
9. Brent Rooker
2024 stats: 344 plate appearances, .291/.369/.573, 21 HR, .399 wOBA, 166 wRC+

Brent Rooker deserves recognition as one of MLB's most underrated hitters, a status he's maintained for a couple of seasons now.

Forgiveness is in order for those who haven't watched much Oakland Athletics baseball recently, given the team's struggles. Despite these challenges, Rooker has consistently performed well, currently holding the sixth-highest wRC+ in 2024. This statistic places him among the top hitters league-adjusted for this season, sharing company with notable players like Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani—a significant comparison.

Should Rooker maintain this performance, it wouldn't be unreasonable to consider him for down-ballot MVP recognition. Moreover, a trade at the upcoming deadline could further boost his chances of gaining that well-deserved acknowledgment.
8. Steven Kwan
2024 stats: 308 plate appearances, .352/.407/.512, 9 HR, .400 wOBA, 165 wRC+

No player has excelled at hitting for contact in 2024 more than Cleveland Guardians outfielder Steven Kwan.

The contact hitter is increasingly uncommon in baseball today, positioning Kwan as somewhat of a "throwback" player. However, there's nothing outdated about boasting a .352 batting average halfway through the season, coupled with an on-base percentage over .400. While Kwan may not match the power numbers of other hitters listed here, his impact isn't diminished in the metrics of wOBA or wRC+. His unique batting prowess stands out, regardless of the perspective.
7. Rafael Devers
2024 stats: 361 plate appearances, .294/.377/.597, 23 HR, .405 wOBA, 159 wRC+

Rafael Devers chose to skip the All-Star Game due to a shoulder injury, yet his selection was well-deserved: The 27-year-old is experiencing a career-best season at the plate.

The veteran third baseman is a key factor behind the resurgent Boston Red Sox securing the American League's third Wild Card spot at the season's midpoint. Whether they can maintain this position remains to be seen, but any shortcomings won't be attributable to Devers, unless his shoulder condition deteriorates.

Additionally, his utter dominance over the New York Yankees deserves special recognition.
6. Juan Soto
2024 stats: 427 plate appearances, .295/.426/.558, 23 HR, .422 wOBA, 179 wRC+

Juan Soto has fallen two spots in the July hitter power rankings as his output has slightly decreased, though the 25-year-old still boasts a 144 wRC+ this month. While impressive, this figure doesn't match the otherworldly 199 wRC+ he achieved in June.

Considering the New York Yankees' overall offensive slump in June, Soto’s 199 wRC+ becomes even more remarkable. It's clear that the team's difficulties were never due to Soto. Although his batting has cooled a bit in July, his knack for drawing walks and maintaining a high on-base percentage (.426, ranking second in all of baseball) remains strong. These skills continue to be highly valued in the sport.

5. Bobby Witt Jr.
2024 stats: 425 plate appearances, .323/.369/.558, 16 HR, .391 wOBA, 152 wRC+

The Kansas City Royals' superstar shortstop has finally broken into the top five of our hitter power rankings, thanks to a scorching start to July with a 215 wRC+ so far.

There's little reason to believe Bobby Witt Jr. will drop out of this top-five spot, particularly if he maintains his high hitting rate. His participation in the 2024 Home Run Derby also provided an opportunity to showcase his talents to a national audience.
4. Gunnar Henderson
2024 stats: 432 plate appearances, .286/.373/.584, 28 HR, .405 wOBA, 168 wRC+

Gunnar Henderson, like Witt, also took center stage at the Home Run Derby in Texas. Could this mark the start of a rivalry between Henderson and Witt for shortstop supremacy in MLB?

Regardless of position, the 23-year-old has emerged as one of baseball’s elite hitters, securing a spot in the top 10 of each of our hitter power rankings so far. Now, the expectation is to consistently rank in the top five, if not the top two or three.

Additionally, Henderson's 28 home runs at the All-Star break match his total from 2023, the year he earned American League Rookie of the Year honors. Looking ahead, an MVP award could be in his near future.
3. Bryce Harper
2024 stats: 357 plate appearances, .301/.403/.579, 21 HR, .413 wOBA, 169 wRC+

Bryce Harper is the biggest mover among those also ranked in June, climbing to the third spot in July from seventh last month.

A stellar June with a 219 wRC+ and a similarly strong July showing of 187 wRC+ have propelled Harper past his early-season struggles, positioning him once again as a formidable MVP contender in the National League. Despite a recent hamstring injury that landed the Phillies’ superstar on the injured list, his continued hot streak at the plate ensures he receives the recognition he deserves.

Of course, this could change if he suffers another injury or misses more games, but for now, his brief stint on the IL isn't detracting from his achievements.
2. Shohei Ohtani
2024 stats: 429 plate appearances, .316/.400/.635, 29 HR, .433 wOBA, 186 wRC+

Nothing to see here, just another month recorded for Los Angeles Dodgers’ designated hitter Shohei Ohtani. It would be more surprising if Ohtani didn’t consistently rank in the top two or three of these hitter power rankings each month. He remains the MVP favorite in the National League, despite not pitching in 2024, and he is also on course for his first career postseason appearance in MLB.
