The Future of the Blue Jays' Outfield
The Blue Jays' outfield depth has been a weakness in recent years, but with prospects like Jonatan Clase and Alan Roden emerging, the future looks brighter. Clase's speed and power, combined with Roden's contact ability, provide the Blue Jays with options to strengthen their outfield. As these players continue to develop in Triple-A, they are setting themselves up for potential major league roles, whether this season or next. Their progress is something Blue Jays fans should keep a close eye on
Luis De Los Santos – INF
Luis De Los Santos, one of the Blue Jays' longest-tenured prospects, has been steadily progressing through the Minor Leagues since his debut in 2016. This season, after recovering from an injury, De Los Santos made his MLB debut but was quickly sent back to Triple-A. In Buffalo, he’s been solid, slashing .278/.391/.478 with an .869 OPS. De Los Santos is pushing for another shot in the majors, and his experience and steady bat could make him a valuable asset for the Blue Jays down the stretch.
Alan Roden – OF
Alan Roden, a homegrown outfielder, has rapidly climbed the Blue Jays' Minor League system. Starting the season in Double-A, Roden earned a promotion to Triple-A Buffalo in mid-June. After initially struggling against tougher pitching, he’s found his groove, posting a .298/.391/.458 slash line. Known for his excellent contact skills, Roden has hit 10 doubles and five home runs in Triple-A. Although the Blue Jays might keep him in Buffalo for the remainder of the season, Roden’s consistent performance at the plate makes him a strong candidate for a future call-up.

Jake Bloss – RHP
Jake Bloss is one of the Toronto Blue Jays' most intriguing pitching prospects, acquired in a trade from the Houston Astros. Bloss has quickly made a name for himself in Triple-A Buffalo, delivering strong performances in his first few outings. In just over nine innings, he’s allowed only six hits and zero runs, boasting a 1.14 WHIP. However, his walk rate remains a concern, with 4.66 BB/9 in his limited sample size.
Bloss could be a valuable addition to the Blue Jays' rotation as they manage their starters' workloads for the rest of the season, potentially working in tandem with veteran pitchers.

Jonatan Clase – OF
Jonatan Clase, an outfielder acquired from the Seattle Mariners, brings a blend of speed and power to the Blue Jays' system. Despite a slow start in Triple-A, where he’s posted a .211/.260/.352 slash line, Clase has the tools to make an impact at the major league level. With four doubles and two home runs in 71 at-bats, his potential is evident, though he needs to improve his consistency at the plate. Clase could earn a call-up soon, giving the Blue Jays a chance to see if he can find his rhythm in the big leagues.
