Hornets vs. Lakers: Top NBA Player Prop Bets for Today

The NBA returns from its All-Star break tonight as Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers (32-20) host LaMelo Ball and the rebuilding Charlotte Hornets (13-39).
These teams last met on January 27, LA coming away with a 112-107 victory. Adding some off-court intrigue is the Lakers’ recent trade for Charlotte center Mark Williams, only to rescind the deal after the 23-year-old failed his physical.
With the stage set, here are my best player prop bets for the matchup:
LAL PG Luka Doncic UNDER 26.5 Points (-115)
- Doncic will no longer be on a minute restriction after returning from a strained left calf for his Lakers debut before All-Star Weekend.
- In two games as a Laker, Doncic has scored 30 total points, playing 23 and 24 minutes, respectively.
- Even with his elite scoring ability, we’re not entirely sold on JJ Redick’s declaration of giving Luka a full workload. Favored by double-digits, a Lakers blowout could also motivate LA’s head coach to give Doncic an early night.
CHA PG LaMelo Ball OVER 3.5 Made Threes (+102)
- Ball is averaging 4.0 made threes per game this season.
- He has knocked down at least four triples in five of his past ten games (50%) despite leaving two of those contests early due to injury.
- Ball is attempting a whopping 11.9 three-pointers per game, giving him ample opportunity to cash this plus-money wager, especially if Charlotte falls behind.

LAL C Jaxson Hayes OVER 5.5 Rebounds (+102)
- Hayes is only averaging 5.3 RPG over his last seven contests but could easily top tonight’s line, with Charlotte allowing the fourth-most boards per game to opposing centers.
