5. NBA Draft
Jeremy Roach entered the transfer portal and added his name to the NBA Draft. He will likely get individual workouts with NBA teams, and if he performs well in front of them, he might land a spot in the first round. His three-point shooting is an attribute, and the 2024 NBA Draft class is considered weak. Roach likely has a low ceiling as a prospect because of his size and age, so a return to college is the expected outcome, but his collegiate career being over is a possibility.
1. Kentucky Wildcats
Jeremy Roach has been a name bandied about as a player who could enter the transfer portal for the past few months. On Wednesday afternoon, the rumor became a reality. Senior guard and Duke captain Roach has left the Blue Devils and is entering the NBA Draft and transfer portal. Roach started 108 games for Duke and averaged 14 points per game, shooting 42.9% from three in 2023. The new coach at Kentucky, Mark Pope, could use a veteran guard to shoot the three. Pope could immediately make a significant splash with the experienced lead guard, and his system allows guards freedom to shoot from the perimeter. UK has a nearly empty roster, will Roach want to be a part of the reboot?

2. St. John's Red Storm
Rick Pitino and the St. John’s Red Storm have been active in the transfer portal after an up-and-down first campaign that saw Pitino’s squad miss the NCAA Tournament. St. John’s is losing a pair of starters and could drop a few more, leaving Pitino in lousy shape and heading into 2024-2025. Jeremy Roach would quickly change that and give St. John’s the veteran point guard they need.

3. Arkansas Razorbacks
John Calipari was promised a big NIL budget when he jumped from Kentucky to Arkansas. He is undoubtedly using some of that to bring the recruiting class he had lined up for Kentucky to Fayetteville. Still, he could use a veteran like Jeremy Roach to help aid the transition for those freshmen. Arkansas is expected to land five-star guard Boogie Fland, and Calipari could pair him with Roach to form a dynamic backcourt in his first season with the Hogs.

4. Connecticut Huskies
If the Connecticut Huskies decided to get involved with Jeremy Roach, he would probably listen. UConn has won back-to-back national titles, and Dan Hurley is widely considered the best coach in college basketball. UConn is losing Cam Spencer, Stephon Castle, and Tristen Newton, so minutes are available. They believe in their young guards, but adding a veteran leader and shot-maker like Roach, who has experience playing in the spotlight, would significantly reduce the burden on those unproven players.
