5 NFL Teams That Should Be Worried After the 2024 Season

Las Vegas Raiders
Let's rewind the clock to this time last year. The Las Vegas Raiders had spent half the season with Antonio Pierce at the helm, and he showed enough promise to earn the full-time coaching gig. Pierce was relieved of his duties one season later, setting the stage for another offseason of uncertainty.
The Raiders' head coaching search will be the top priority this offseason. Irrespective of who they find, they'll have their work cut out for them in trying to make this a competitive football team. The Raiders lacked defensive discipline and offensive creativity, which are compounded by a lack of NFL-caliber players on both sides of the football.
There's no telling what changes will be made this offseason. Surely, it will take more than one offseason to get this team back to the level it needs to be at.

Jacksonville Jaguars
For a brief moment, the Jacksonville Jaguars appeared on the right track. They claimed the AFC South title in 2022, even securing one of the greatest playoff comeback wins ever. But in the two seasons since, the Jags have mustered 13 wins and look like their former, beleaguered selves.
Unlike some of the other teams on this list, Jacksonville has some promising players on offense and defense. Still, Doug Pederson's press conferences suggested a disconnect between management's expectations and the coach's wishes.
The Jaguars could likely resolve most of their issues in the boardroom. But rather than taking the time to get on the same page, Jacksonville appears destined for another tumultuous offseason that will impact their ability to compete next season.
New York Giants
The New York Giants' problems didn't start this season, but they are about to come to a head this offseason.
Since the start of last offseason, they've lost their 'franchise' quarterback and former first-overall running back, who turned into an MVP candidate as soon as he left the organization, for nothing. Further, Brian Daboll's head coaching pedigree isn't conducive to developing young talent.
New York is falling, and there aren't enough pieces to help this organization rebuild itself into the Giants they once were. Yet again, it is time to tear it all down and start over.
New York Jets
The Giants aren't the only New York-based franchise that needs to re-evaluate its position this offseason. The New York Jets came unglued this season, and there's not enough cohesion to put this group back together in 2025.
Aaron Rodgers's time in the Big Apple has likely ended. Despite surrounding the future Hall of Famer with adequate talent, the Jets' offense still failed to take off this season. Those issues are only compounded by uncertainty surrounding their quarterback and head coaching scenarios.
Jets fans are used to this, but it still doesn't make it any easier. Their championship drought will be prolonged indefinitely, making it improbable they ever return to the promised land.
Cleveland Browns
Kevin Stefanski's tenure as head coach of the Cleveland Browns took a turn for the worse in 2024. More concerningly, the Browns regressed to the same feckless organization they've been for most of the past three decades.
Cleveland may have restructured Deshaun Watson's contract, but that could only be the first step in a multi-phase plan. Now, they'll have to rebuild their receivers' corps without knowing if Watson will be the quarterback to lead this team into the future.
Browns fans, nay, apologists, are used to this. But those infamous quarterback jerseys with the neverending list of changing names are about to get much longer.
