Following a fairly disappointing weekend of quarterback play across the league, ten players continue to separate themselves in the NFL. That said, here’s a look at the top ten quarterbacks heading into Week 12.
1) Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen made a statement this past weekend, slotting himself firmly back into the top spot in the NFL QB power rankings. The Bills’ star combined for six touchdowns in the team’s win on Sunday, showcasing his arm talent and versatility as a rusher. For that, Allen reclaims the top spot.
2) Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
Matthew Stafford’s MVP campaign continues on Sunday in yet another win for the Rams. Tossing two touchdowns to add to his season totals, the quarterback’s 27 touchdowns put him atop the league, proving age is just a number.
3) Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have definitely seen better days, especially following a divisional loss to Denver this past season. Despite that, there’s no way to exclude Mahomes from this list, even with the struggles he’s had over the last few weeks. Assuming the former MVP gets things turned around, there’s no doubt he’ll prove worthy of his spot on this list down the stretch.
4) Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson is coming off his worst performance of the season following his two-interception day against a stout Browns’ defense on Sunday. However, given his success before this abysmal performance, it’s easier to argue that Jackson belongs in the top five rather than outside. As the best dual-threat QB in the game, Jackson earns the No. 4 spot heading into Week 12.
5) Drake Maye, New England Patriots
Drake Maye is a top candidate for the MVP award this season, and it’s easy to see why. Leading the Patriots to an impressive 360 turnaround this season atop the league with a 9-2 record, the second-year quarterback’s 20 touchdown to five interceptions ratio proves he’s an elite talent. For that, Maye lands in the top five and is knocking at the door of the top three.
6) Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott has come back down to earth since his tear to start the season. Still, the quarterback’s high level of play has kept hope alive for the Cowboys down the stretch of the season, with playoff aspirations in mind. Moving forward, Prescott slots in just outside of the top five.
7) Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Baker Mayfield has cooled off a bit since becoming an early MVP candidate to start the season. Nonetheless, looking at the injuries on the offensive side of the ball, it’s easy to understand why. Regardless, Mayfield is an elite quarterback, and when the team slowly regains weapons for the QB, it won’t be shocking to see the former top pick reinsert himself in the top five.
8) Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
Jared Goff continues to lead one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL, and his ability to not just manage the game at a high level but to manipulate defenses puts him in elite company. For that, Goff remains inside the top 10 heading into Week 12.
9) Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts has impressed this season, mainly due to his ability to take care of the ball. The Oklahoma product is currently up to 16 passing touchdowns on the season with only one interception. Playing at this level, his ability to take care of the ball while leading a dynamic offense earns him the No. 8 spot on our list.
10) Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert is coming off an extremely underwhelming outing in the team’s recent loss to the Jaguars. Although the former Oregon star’s struggles were disappointing, the blame can’t just be placed on him. With an offensive line consistently putting him under duress and the receiver’s inability to create separation, Herbert was positioned to fail this past weekend. Regardless, his ability to be elite and go toe-to-toe with the top quarterbacks in the league lands him on this list.
