The Houston Astros remain the odds-on favorite to win the American League Pennant, while the Tampa Bay Rays have been playing well to close out August.

1. Houston Astros +270 (Last week: +340)
The defending World Series champion Houston Astros have won five in a row and seven of their last ten. Even though they aren’t currently on top of the AL West, the Astros have continued to hold the top odds to win the American League after rising from +340 to +270.
2. Baltimore Orioles +420 (Last week: +440)
It’s hard to argue with the Baltimore Orioles’ continued consistency, where they’ve won seven of their last ten games and have remained the top seed in the American League. With another positive week in the books, the O’s have seen their odds of winning the Pennant bet down from +440 to +420.
3. Tampa Bay Rays +430 (Last week: +500)
Just when people were starting to count the Tampa Bay Rays out, they went on a hot streak. The Rays have won five in a row and eight of their last ten games, solidifying the top wild-card spot and staying in the AL East race. Tampa’s American League odds have risen from +500 to +430 over the last week.
4. Texas Rangers +480 (Last week: +340)
It’s been a struggle for most of August for the Texas Rangers, who’ve lost seven of their last ten games and are hovering on the playoff cut line. The Rangers’ odds of winning the Pennant have tailed off over the previous week from +340 to +480.
5. Seattle Mariners +550 (Last week: +750)
The Seattle Mariners have won eight of their last ten games and continue to sit on top of the AL West. With each passing victory, the M’s odds of winning the American League continue rising. Over the last week, they were bet down from +750 to +550.

6. Minnesota Twins +1000 (Last week: +950)
Even amid two straight losses and a 5-5 record over their last ten games, the Minnesota Twins are sitting comfortably atop the AL Central. As long as that doesn’t change down the stretch, they’ll continue to hover in this area after slightly dropping from +950 to +1000.
7. Toronto Blue Jays +1300 (Last week: +850)
It’s been a rollercoaster August for the Toronto Blue Jays, who’ve posted a 5-5 record over their last ten games. The Blue Jays trail the final wild-card spot in the AL by 2.5 games and have seen their odds of winning the Pennant drop from +850 to +1300.
8. Boston Red Sox +10000 (Last week: +5500)
Four straight losses and seven over their last ten games have put the Boston Red Sox in a tough position. They’re now 6.5 games back in the wild-card race and fading by the day. With that, the Red Sox’s odds of winning the AL have nearly doubled from +5500 to +10000.
9. Cleveland Guardians +35000 (Last week: +35000)
The Cleveland Guardians aren’t dead in the water just yet in the AL Central, but they’re still five games behind the Minnesota Twins. As a result, they’ve continued to hold +35000 odds to win the American League over the last week.
