Potential Portal Destinations for Tacario Davis

5. Colorado Buffaloes
It is now time for the obligatory mention of the Colorado Buffaloes. Tacario Davis to Boulder could make a lot of sense, though. He is a long corner, something Deion Sanders would be able to recruit and develop very effectively. The chance to star opposite Travis Hunter would be enticing, and the Buffaloes are now migrating to the Big 12. The other options make more sense, but Davis would listen if Coach Prime called.
1. Washington Huskies
Tacario Davis was an All-PAC-12 cornerback in 2023 after leading the conference in pass breakups and emerging as a top corner. He's 6'4" and has proven production under new Washington head coach Jedd Fisch. The Huskies lost top corner Jabbar Muhammad to the portal and need help at every position. Fisch could bolster the rebuilt secondary with the addition of Davis.
2. Alabama Crimson Tide
Kalen DeBoer is the new head coach at Alabama after Nick Saban's retirement. The Crimson Tide lost some secondary stars to the portal as Caleb Downs left for Ohio State and Dezz Ricks moved to Texas A&M. Tacario Davis is a difference-maker at corner and would be a solid addition for DeBoer.
3. Texas Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns have a lot going for them as they move to the SEC after reaching the College Football Semifinals. However, they could use some reinforcements in the secondary and have not addressed that area in the portal. They tried for Jabbar Muhammad, but he committed to Oregon. Landing the 6'4" Davis would be a nice consolation prize. New Longhorns defensive coordinator Johnny Nansen spent the past two seasons in Tucson with Tacario Davis, so the Longhorns could be a favorite here.
4. Texas A&M Aggies
New Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko hired Jordan Peterson from Kansas as his co-defensive coordinator. Peterson was a member of the staff that gave Tacario Davis his first scholarship offer when he was in high school. Players don't forget that first offer, and the relationship with Peterson could open the door for Texas A&M in his recruitment. The Aggies have a lot of NIL money to offer, and there is an opportunity to star in the SEC.
