NBA Betting Guide for May 9: OKC’s Thunderous Playoff Run

The NBA is hosting a doubleheader of playoff hoops tonight, so let’s review everything you need to know about both matchups.
Kicking off the night, the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers will meet for Game 2 in Boston after the Celtics dominated the Cavs in Game 1 en route to a 25-point win. The Cavs couldn’t muster up much of anything to overcome the Celtics, so like in the first round with the Miami Heat, the only hope for stealing a game here seems to be for the Celtics to take their foot off the gas pedal. As the team will likely celebrate their assistant Charles Lee becoming the Charlotte Hornets head coach, maybe tonight will be the night. Sitting as a 13.5-point underdog, the hope is indeed slim.

On deck, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks will face off again after the Thunder handled the Mavs comfortably in a 22-point win. It’s hard to just completely write off Dallas, given their firepower, with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving leading the charge. Still, the Thunder’s all-around effort and defensive intensity seemed too much for the Mavs to handle in Game 1 despite OKC’s lack of playoff exposure. I don’t expect the Thunder to just run away with this series, especially considering their opponent. So, I’m expecting a much better effort out of Luka tonight in what will hopefully go down to the wire!
