5. NBA Draft
Cam Christie entered the transfer portal with a “Do Not Contact” tag and said he was focusing primarily on the NBA Draft process. Christie measured at 6’6” with a plus wingspan, and his elite three-point shooting potential caught the attention of scouts. He is rumored to be rising on draft boards and has crept into the fringe of the first round. Christie is not even 19 years old yet, so he is seen as a prospect with plenty of room to develop. He paints a picture similar to that of his brother, Max Christie, a wing for the Los Angeles Lakers. Cam could join his brother in the league very soon.
1. Michigan State Spartans
Former blue-chip recruit Cam Christie has entered the transfer portal after playing one year at Minnesota. The 6’5” wing averaged 11.3 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game, starting in 26 of the Gophers’ 33 games. Minnesota made the NIT and fell to Indiana State to the end its campaign. Christie entered his name into the NBA Draft and is considered a riser on draft boards, but he could elect to return to school. If he does, the Michigan State Spartans will undoubtedly get a look. Christie is the younger brother of former MSU Spartans player Max Christie. Tom Izzo recruited the younger Christie brother in high school, nearly bringing him to East Lansing before he chose Minnesota. Izzo could use a sharpshooting wing to add offensive punch to a reasonably pedestrian roster.

2. Illinois Fighting Illini
The other Big Ten team that would make a lot of sense for Cam Christie is the Illinois Fighting Illini. Christie is a native of Illinois and played at Rolling Meadows High School in the Land of Lincoln. Brad Underwood’s team has taken a major hit this offseason as Terrence Shannon Jr. and Marcus Domask have moved on, and Coleman Hawkins is in the transfer portal and NBA Draft. They pursued a lot of high-profile players before landing point guard Kylan Boswell from Arizona and a few forwards that Underwood hopes can fill the gaps on the roster. The one area they have yet to address is the shooting guard position, a hole Christie could fill.

3. Arkansas Razorbacks
The Arkansas Razorbacks have rebuilt the roster from the ground up under new head coach John Calipari. Coach Cal took over for Eric Musselman in a surprising move away from Lexington, Kentucky. Arkansas is now a talented but relatively young roster, and they could use more perimeter shooting. Cam Christie is expected to develop into an elite three-point shooter and could play a valuable role for an Arkansas team with a lot of talent like Johnell Davis, Jonas Aidoo, and Zvonimir Ivisic. Still, adding a tremendous catch-and-shoot wing like Christie would fit well. The current projected starting small forward, Adou Thiero, is a high-energy slasher but not a great shooter, so Christie could be a good complimentary piece.

4. Ole Miss Rebels
The Ole Miss Rebels were one of the schools in play for Cam Christie during his initial recruitment, and they have since added powerhouse recruiter Chris Beard as head coach. They have added some pieces in the transfer portal but still need a good shooting guard to go with additions like Sean Pedulla, Malik Dia, and Dre Davis. Christie does not fit the defensive mold of a Beard player but can stretch the floor. Plus, Christie was intrigued by Oxford under the previous coaching staff for the Rebels.
